Not everyone in Aus Post is bad - But

It's true, not everyone in Australia Post is incompetent, dishonest, apathetic etc...

Or a utterly clueless....

But my own personal experiences have left a seriously shitty taste in my mouth, to the point that Australia Post will NEVER EVER again get any business what so ever - if I can help it at all....

Where ever possible -

All parcels are being sent by courier.

All correspondence is being sent via email.

All bills are by direct debit, credit card, over the phone etc...

There is now NO reason at all, to engage them for anything.

A passport? I don't believe in taking sides on a round planet - it's everyone's home.

I sent all of the managers a letter stating -

"Consider this to be your letter of resignation. etc..

Your management and service is so appalling that I have decided that you are no longer working for me".

This is what is sent or now included with all contact with prospective business's.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We have a very firm "We do Not Use Australia Post" policy for all transactions.
We only accept deliveries by courier. Any material delivered by Australia Post will be refused."
Here is a daily update of the people who post their tales on the Australia Post Facebook Page.
As the managers of Australia Post say.
"The Peasants are Revolting." - "Yes aren't they darling."
And from the Australia Post Facebook page, the people are saying -
"We ain't buying the bullshit any more."
So im going away on holidays and I place a mail hold with AP, costs me $20 for the 9 days im away...
Get home to find parcels at my house, including one with about $80 of handbags and also TWO cards to collect parcels from one of my post offices.. (called AP call centre and made complaint about mail hold service)
Go to the post office yesterday, and they can only find one of the parcels..
I asked them to check again, cause i have a card so its got to be here...
Nope nothing :( The card didnt have a tracking number written on it cause the driver is too lazy.. (called Ap call centre, complained about driver and his inability to write down a tracking number on the cards, I was also told about something called Better Service and that someone would call me to speak about it, no one rang :( and id love to know what this Better Service might be...)
So I gave them all my info. they photocopied the card and they called me later that day after apparently speaking to my parcel delivery guy, he said that the parcel was a return to sender item and would be dropped off to me the next day.
So He has been this morning and dropped off ONE parcel but not the one i was missing. Even though he was the one that said what it was and that he would drop it off today, but failed ... (called call centre for third day in a row to complain again, really angry now)
Australia Post you have failed me many times with missing parcels i have posted, Express items saying they are delivered and they have not been then arrive a day or two later, Drivers not leaving cards for parcels for my customers, who then ask me whats going on only for me to tell them its at their PO waiting and they were unware, for parcels not being delievered and carded when the customer is home cause the driver is too lazy (this has happened to me before also)
Prices going up but service going down. We have not much choice to send items with AP and there are how many ppl that spend money on postage everyday, that would equal to Millions of dollars but the service is only worth a few bucks, why?? Because no one cares anymore and thats sad.
Australia Post your service is unacceptable and I believe instead of increasing prices in april, increase the service first. Its only fair on the millions of customers you are serving, gosh if i treated my customers with this level of service, i would be out of business very quickly. Imagine if there was another service we could choose from, how fast AP would loose millions of customers.. Come on AP, get it right Please.
  • Michelle Killeen Ain't that the truth. It is a joke.
  • Tonie Hudgell So angry Michelle. they still cant tell me where my mail is or where the missing parcel is, pathetic
  • Robyn Gurney I have a sign by my front door saying that I am home please knock so that I can hear you and at least attempt to deliver my parcel as im sick of paying for delivery and then having to still go and get it myself.
  • Tonie Hudgell yeah thats a great idea Robyn, but we should have to resort to that. Some drivers are way to lazy and i get at least 2 customers every week that ask me where their item is and i then have to find and check tracking and then explain to customer its at PO, because the driver was too lazy to complete the job he is PAID for.
  • Amanda Guilfoyle Took my express post parcel two weeks to get to my mother in QLD from WA...what's the point of complaining when they don't refund you, they just give you another bag for more shitty service..
    And here in WA in I am a stay at home person and don't go out..I have a loud doorbell on my front door, yet I keep getting cards for parcels..one day I was out the front watering the driveway plants and a delivery man drove into our driveway, sat in his car obviously writing a card out and as he was taking so long I was watching him..
    He got out of his van and put the card into MY letterbox so I chased him..he said to me..oh I knocked on the door but no one answered..I said you did NOT because I was standing there in front of my own door!!
    He just said..oh well..and gave me the parcel and drove off..I have had the absolute worst experiences with AP here in WA than any other state I have lived
  • Michelle Killeen
    We need to enlist the help of Kevin Costner so he can start up another mail service like he did in movie "The Postman" lol. Surely that would have to be an improvement on what we currently have.
  • Robyn Gurney what they need is a little competition, then theyd have to pick up their act!
  • Kate McAndrew I still can't believe they haven't written back yet. When I complained to Target about something they wrote back within five minutes
  • Kate McAndrew I have the same problems here too
  • Hooked On Sales
    If you saw him doing this Amanda, you should report him as for all anyone knows he may be doing that and keeping parcels, wouldn't be the first time it has happened.
  • Tonie Hudgell Amanda
     thats crazy. but i had same thing happen i was home, heard the bike postie and went off to collect and there was a card, and so i waited until he came back on othersde of road and questioned him and he said he was new... normally the bike postie would ride up drive and toot and id come out to collect my goodies.. but no excuses... do the job right or give it to someone who needs a job more.
  • Tonie Hudgell Yeah Michelle that would be good
  • Tonie Hudgell Robyn, they sure do, imagine if there was another service...
  • Tonie Hudgell Kate, not sure, typical of the service though itsnt that right
  • Rachel Summers
     I have sent three things to my mum Expresspost and they never arrive. The tracker says they are delivered, and on one occasion the driver said he left it behind the screen door. Thing is, mum doesn't have a screen door.
  • Tonie Hudgell
    Omg Rachel, thats shocking. agan typical of the service we are paying for I read so many complaints on here but see nothing gets fixed, unacceptable, sick of paying for a service thats not getting delivered
  • Rochell Lancaster
    They don't care because they don't have to. There is no alternative. Telstra didn't give a crap either til they got competition
  • Robyn Wilton
    Tonie is just lucky that I was going there each day otherwise they all would have been outside for anyone to take, but if you pay for a service you should get the service!
  • Fiona Brown
    I had tickets sent back 'return to sender' because the postie kept trying to deliver (and leaving the reminder cards) to the wrong address, when my address was clearly printed on the envelope and is clearly displayed on our house.
    Their response was '
    oh well, you'll have to contact the sender and get them sent again'. I'm just lucky that I'd had an email to say the tickets were on their way so I knew who'd sent them. Their service all round is disgraceful.
  • Tonie Hudgell
    Shocking and for tickets also. I hope you get them. some of the delievery ppl are shocking, i sell on here so i send alot of parcels and i hear from my customers alot of complaints about AP. Its gettng worse but the prices keep increasing, not fair at all
    im still waiting for a call back about a non delivered item from December
    and im still waiting for my mail to be dropped off from my mail hold that ended yesterday... shocking is an understatement.
The only delivery company that won't deliver to our premises. Why? Because we are on the second floor. Poor little diddums didn't even have to use the stairs, we have a lift. So he left it for our office lady to handle, what a pathetic human being. We get deliveries every week from many companies and no-one seems to have a problem with it.
I need the phone number to call Springwood Qld post shop direct, how do I find it, I've held on the phone for over 20 minutes on the 131318 number, I think I have left my house keys there and need to contact them urgently
So you apparently "tried" to deliver this this morning and claimed no one was home.......there was 2 people sitting at home, with the front door clearly open waiting for this parcel which you can easily see from the street. No one bothered to leave a card to say it's at the post office either.
  • Susan Australia This issue is why the current price hikes are insulting to most consumers. Why should consumers take over the contractors job and - unpaid - go and pick up their packages for no pay/no vouchers? And you don't have a card either although you don't need it as such.
Phoebe Jamieson
Oh AusPost - give me strength. I thought you were in the business of delivering mail not posting a collection slip in my mailbox and making me go get it from you..... what is it exactly that we are paying for?!?!
My tracking says parcel delivered. The parcel is not and has not been delivered as ive been home all day...and no there is no card in my letter box?? Worried as it is a bday pressie. Can someone please explain whether this tracking system is correct or not.
Tracking number is NLP0725628010926 going to 5159.
I did receive a parcel yesterday but it was not this one,,,could it be possible that the tracking was put on the wrong parcel and the other one could still be coming?
This is the second time I have posted here..a response would be great from australia post.
I am not a happy customer I ordered a beautiful birth certificate for my newborn & when I went to the letterbox I find it half hanging out & soaking wet! It's ruined & now I will have to pay another $60 for a new one, why would you deliver a cylinder & have it not fully covered in the letterbox in the pouring rain. I will be taking this further!!!!!
how can you send back a parcel claiming the house number doesnt exsist when you have delivered parcels there before??? I sent this parcel to the correct address and yet it gets returned to me again, I had the same thing happen at christmas time, with a parcel being returned twice to me before it was delivered.... the parcel this time was delivered back to me in a plastic bag with the box soaking wet, whats the go australian post, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND DELIVER THE BLOODY PARCEL TO THE ADDRESS, Im so over sending parcels through you, you made my niece wait over 2wks after christmas for her present and now shes having to wait who knows how long for her NOW LATE BIRTHDAY PRESENT...
  Craig McCrum
So Australia Post you are hopeless, start providing customer service , you turn up to my house with a parcel to be delivered you ring the door bell, wait 10 seconds then run to your van and put a card in the letter box, saying we were not home and to collect from my local PO location, What i find alarming is that my wife is in a wheel chair and you can not wait an extra minute to see if the person is not home, as it takes some people longer to get to the door as others, the card you leave is not readable due to the hand writing and to top it off i call to have the parcel re delivered as i work 6 days a week, and you cant find it as i cant read the hand writing , and then to be told you will not re deliver anyway, so due to your impatiant drivers i now have to take time off work to go collect the parcel. WTF aust post ? what r u going to do to fix this ?
I have tried calling your 13 number everyday this week and end up being on hold for at least 10 minutes without even speaking to anyone! WTF?!
Hello, Just worndering what we need to do to get mail delivered to our house? We have moved into a new home and the local post office wont deliver any mail to us or our neighbours, we have to go to them each day to collect the mail. We have been doing this for about 2 months now, but other people in our area have been doing it for much longer. Please help, we are wasting so much time having to go to the post office each day.
Hello Australia Post,
I think it is ridiculous that you do not have a BPAY option on your PO BOX renewal invoices (and I am sure many other Aus post invoices). Only having your Post billpay system as an online payment option is showing that you only care about your own margins and that you do not have the customers needs in mind.
  • Mell Scott-Smith Hi Ben, Thanks for your reply. My issue is that I do not have a credit card so I would have to go into a branch to make the payment. Not to mention it will then probably take a 10 minutes phone conversation to do this over the phone. I am extremely time poor, as most Australians are and I think having a BPAY option of payment is a quick and easy solution. Maybe Australia Post could consider adding this as an option to their bills.
  • Mike Casey Post Billpay IS woefull and those other organizations that use it make life difficult.
    You want to make it convenient? Maybe you should allow automatic future transactions available on your service.
    In a situation where one has to make payments each mo
    nth to an organization, it is an unnecessary hassle in this day and age to have to log onto ur site or make a phone call multiple times to complete the task.
    That's not convenient!
    one very unhappy customer here, to be told by customer service , sorry there isn't anything we can do to help you find your Express posted, with reference number, that has now gone missing , and computer says its been delivered, because you didn't send it in a bigger satchel is ridiculous.
    Funnily enough, when a parcel being delivered, specifically asks for 'signature on delivery' I should not find it sitting on my front door step when I arrive home, having NOT signed for it.... Not only is this the 2nd time in 2 wks that its happened, but I DO NOT appreciate you leaving cases of wine, clearly stated on the box, out on the front porch in 39 degree heat! Again, 2nd time in 2 wks. DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY!
    Australia Post, let me just say it was not a pleasure doing business with you today. Your price of sending ordinary mail is highway robbery! I feel cheated and robbed and most of all disappointed with your poor service. What ever happened to the days when stamps were $0.40 and the price of sending an invite for $1.20 each was unheard of. Stop ripping me and the rest of the country blind!
    Can I get an explaination as to why a Driver didn't deliver to my location which the street is 250 metres long & the address cannot be missed. It was then sent all the way back to Queensland.
    My phone number was on the goods, so very easy to call.
    Your service is becoming absolutely disgusting.
    I have an issue where I am being told an express post platinum package, which was supposed to be sent to me, has been "delivered". However, I have not received the item, I never signed for the item and a delivery card was not left at my address. I have called the national call centre, and they are telling me it was signed by someone, but I have been at home all day and signed nothing. It has pretty important passport information in there...     what it should read is due to increase in austalian shopping on line we want to cash in ................ so up the prices go again we must be the most expensive country in the world for post with the worst service after reading a few comments on here...
    Once again catching a taxi to go collect my parcel because your asshole sub-contractor would prefer to fill out a card than walk another 3m and push a couple of buttons to be welcomed by my smile when I actually get a parcel delivered.
    What's the go? The driver to Harrison, ACT should be fired.
    I'm trying to run a business from home after a recent operation and you're a ruining that ability.
    I fully understand the policies about 'van safety' but your policy of 'obstructions to the front door' is a joke. The amount of Australians that live in an apartment complex is growing, work out a way for this to work please.
    This is un-Australian.
    Dear Australia Post...allow me to share something with you.... I ordered some stuff online it had to be delivered from Victoria after 7 days I logged onto Australia Post's tracking system wondering where it was....the update was address not found redirected to sorting office, I emailed them and asked it be redirected to my local post office, got an auto reply a customer service rep will be in contact within two working days...two days later no contact so again I logged on and tracked my parcel, on board for delivery with driver..yipppeee!!! by lunchtime no delivery so logged on again....no answer at address redirected to local post office, checked my mail box found the little card...pick up after 1p.m.....well at least they found the address this time!!!, trundled up to the post office at 2.45p.m no parcel, "but it says pick up after 1.00p.m" says me. "well shes not dropped off parcels yet" says rude man, any idea when she will? "nope" ...."oh so what time".... ignorant pig spoke over me to tell me he had no idea, I continued "do you close" ...5.30 says he...thanks for allowing me to finish my question says me, arsewipe, id like to add when I order things from overseas they arrive within 7 working days, this so far has taken 9 I do not live in a remote part of WA I live in suburban Perth. get your act together!
    Hi! I just wanted to let you all know about my new postal service, I've named it "I Can't Believe It's Not Aust Post". It's a simpler version of AP, without the unbelievable prices, and the exact same service.
    So, we have post boxes which are located in every town, big and small. You may know them as "rubbish bins". When you're ready, pop your post into the post boxes (no stamps - you get what you pay for with ICBINAP) and within 1-7 working days, your parcel will have been delivered to the local tip.
    Now I know that normally your parcel will just "go missing" so this is an added extra in our service - there's no wondering where it is, you know it's at the tip!
    So for a much lower price, you're getting the same AP service.... Who's in?
    After a month of emails trying to find my lost parcel, I am no closer. You won't investigate it because I am the addressee. Tracking indicates it made it to the delivery centre before the Australia post mystery journey! So clearly it's your problem and not the senders. This is a cop out. Ref: q680008680.
    would love to know why an item from NSW to be delivered to Launceston Tasmania is now in Qld does this mean we are not going to recieve it
    If I have paid for a parcel to be sent to me via express post with tracking and I am home but the delivery person fails to come around the house to the front door (instead leaving me a card in the letterbox), how come it is then my responsibility to go to a parcel centre 5.8 km away and pick it up? And why am I told that it is not possible to have it redelivered the next day? And why would it take up to 5 working days to leave it at my local post office where it is more convenient for me to collect it? I paid extra for tracking and a home delivery because I urgently needed the goods and I am unwell and even though I rang as soon as the delivery person had failed to come to the front door nothing could be done about it :( If I did not have a car to travel that distance and I was bedridden I'd be stuffed. It is hard to consider Australia Post a service under the circumstances.
    Surely I have to blame to flogs that mailed me 2 x $2500 CD Players via your service but regardless you would think the 'Fragile' logo was enough indication for you not to destroy the packaging that protects them. I swear to god there is a footprint on one of them...
    Thanks Australia Post for being incompetent, inefficient and irresponsible with our parcels. I got sent a picture today of your new billboard ads about your wonderful tracking service. I will be reporting you to the ACCC for false advertising. I shipped three parcels with tracking, and once they were lodged in the post office you never tracked them again. Now they are lost and we are the ones out of pocket. Huge F
    A parcel weighing just under 500g sent within Australia requiring a signature and insurance of up to $100 cost me $7.20 Last Friday. As of Monday same thing will cost me $7.15 basic postage, $2.95 for the signature option and a further $1.50 for the $100 insurance. So it goes from$7.20 >>> to $11.60. This is a jump of way over 50%. this is a joke. No way can they justify a jump like this. This give an idea how absurd the rises are.
    We sell small, low value items around the world with flat rate postage.
    Due to major pressure from Australia Post, making it impossible to compete with overseas sellers. We nearly closed our business.
    Now we have found a friend overseas who is happy and willing to post all our items for us.
    We send him a box of 50pcs every month, using Skippy Post, and avoid Australia Post all together!!
    It now only costs us around $3 to send anywhere in the world, plus a few extra $ for our friends time, he is now also turning a nice little profit.
    In doing this we have saved our business and skies have never been sunnier.
    Dear Aus Post i would like to know how u can lose a parsel i sent to my Daughter in Melboure when its sennt Express post?!. I sent it 2 days ago and she still dont have it and when i call up to see were it is . Your guys cant find it.... This is NOT THE 1ST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. I sent one to the same address last yr and it took you BLOODY 8 WEEKS to dilver it... I have lost all trust in Aus Post.... Get ur act togther and fix it....
    Pfft Australia post once again have lost a package my mother has tried to send me she lives In Sydney and I'm in Melbourne how the hell can you loose a package a tracked package this time after the last was lost and I finally received it a month later... GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.
    I really had enough of your crap customer service and been treated like a fool. You staff had lied to me, refused to give a reference number of the call I made and just been transferred after 25mins on the phone. I have asked for the information to be advised through email. With the recent price hikes by AP, I need to speak to someone about postage for businesses.
    Couple of weeks ago i posted my concerns and issues i have with our postie. I believe this has been deleted as it wasnt a positive post for australia post. i was asked to lodge another formal complaint which i did and now have my response emailed to me. It is actually a slap in the face. It simply shows that the postie is GOD and we cant do anythign about it. If anything it will make him angrier and give him more reason to abuse us. My advise is never to complain about australia post as you will only make the situation worse. They have it all worked out in their favour
      Do you have a reference number for your complaint?
    • Sally Barsoum I think you missunderstood my message. I have had this reviewed and have had a letter explaining the decision of my review and it has been closed. But it is in no way in my favour nor has the problem been resolved. He hasnt written a threatening letter, thats not what i was trying to say. however it was stated in the review letter that his group leader has been contacted and he told them that what he is doing is right and he is allowed to do that. So the decision was made based on that and the case has been closed. So its a waste of time writing to any of you or lodging any complaints because at the end of the day australia post are right and customers are always wrong.
    As An Australian Corporation you should support Australian businesses. I am an avid internet shopper and my final decision to buy is based on the cost of postage. I will buy overseas in preference if local postage ups the cost of the item. At the moment this is generally only 10% of the time. With your price increase I expect it will be 50% of the time now. You are greeedy you made profit and demand will increase. Get smart about your infrastructure costs..get green vehicles for urban areas..don't pass on the costs..
    Oz Post are dam right Thieves !! This all stinks as they are in this with eBay. I am an eBay seller, and I cannot believe what they are doing. This is all gearing up for all eBayer's to send by Free Post. eBay is dictating even to our National Postal delivery. First they tried to make payment by PayPal ONLY, now they have their hands in Oz post as well. Smaller eBay seller's MADE Australian eBay what it is today, and now they are detroying US !!
    • Justin Hughes the point is auspost you are not listing to people and dont care about australian business if you did the ceo would be on here himself instead of the public getting cut and paste responses, which confirms my suspicions peoples complaints are not getting through to the ceo you are holding onto them if they are prove it you are a govt business so you are answerable to us the public not the govt not the board to us the public so do your job properly
    • Justin Hughes as you are public servants people may have to start thinking about having staff reported under the public service act for giving misleading information which in fact is a breach of your charter and the postal act
      So now I've just had a parcel return to sender due to "incorrect address" which is bullshit because I have my mail delivered to the same address without any issues...
    IF your price increases where are reflection in your increased level of service, I don't think the Australian public would be in such an uproar over it all.... but today, your substandard service strikes again... I received an email saying my parcel was ready for collection in Nhulunbuy - which would have been fantastic if I lived there!! (oh and your customer service department wanted to charge me a transfer fee to have my parcel sent to the correct address). And for your efforts it is probably going to be another week before I receive my parcel as the barge won't be back in port until next Wednesday.
    Shame on you Australia Post. Your outrageous price increases over the last 12 months will send many small mail order business to the wall & they will join the unemployed instead.
    It is now cheaper to have the same item shipped from just about anywhere in the world so why would International buyers purchase from Australia when it costs so much to ship anything????
    What about low income earners? Your domestic parcel prices make it impossible for many to send a parcel anywhere in Australia let alone overseas.
      We know that price increases can present a challenge and take the decision to raise our prices very seriously.
      Like all businesses, Australia Post is operating in a challenging business environment with increasing external costs – particularly related to delivery, transport and energy. We deliver to more than 11 million addresses and must expand our capacity to deliver to an additional 200,000 addresses each year.
      Currently we price our International Letters according to two geographic zones and International Parcels according to four zones. From 8 April 2013, we will base our prices on three zones for International Letters and eight zones for International Parcels. These changes will ensure that the prices we charge for international postage reflect the costs we incur when sending internationally.
      To achieve this we continually reduce our operating costs, improve the efficiency of our network, adjust our prices and enhance our products.
      I appreciate your thoughts and feelings about our price changes.
    • Ross Gage That's the same garbage they cut paste on my earlier post.
    • Ross Gage Couple points if order have you ever "adjusted" your prices down?
      What enhanced products are now available?
    • Christine Steen No enahncements apart from tracking on all domestic parcels which other countries have had for decades. Domestic delivery times are slower.
    • Christine Steen Increasing the prices will just serve to bite Aus. Post on the backside because people will just purchase more from overseas so will cost Aus Post more.
    • Lola Harrison I remember the good ole days when VIC to VIC postage used to be two days maximum...and often you'd get Melb to central VIC in one day! These days, it's regularly closer to a week. There's been a few of my online sales, buyers have opted for paying my petrol to drive down to melb to hand deliver, works out cheaper!
    Hi I have submitted an online enquiry - but can you please also assist me. I am missing a lot of mail, I have not received anything in weeks and I am missing out on my magazines subscription etc. I live in the new suburb of Johnston in NT, near Palmerston. Last time I had to pick up a huge bundle of bills, and letters from the delivery centre that hadn't been delivered to our address. Some 6 weeks old. It is really kind of pathetic and we almost missed our power bill due date because of it. I just don't understand that if google maps and the maps on my bloody Iphone know about my residential address how the mail is unable to be delivered. Australia post must really have a pathetic system and process for updating your delivery route. I am hopeful that this is just a short-term issue but after 3 months it is really starting to get on my nerves. I hope you are able to help me locate my lost mail and help resolve the issue of constant non-delivery of our mail, not to mention everyone one else who lives in the same apartment complex.
    what's the deal with all the tracking numbers I have gotten recently not showing any info even after the item is delivered and the express post has been basically standard post at the speed it goes what's the deal aus post please explain
    Why can't I track Registered Post items that were lodged on Saturday (6th)? I paid for the tracking yet it and all the others I paid for show nothing- not even lodgement. So how exactly am I supposed to find out where they are? I don't think I should need to waste my time and money calling CS to do something that I'm told should be done on your site... Would be great to know where 530716406013 is thanks.
    David Jensen So its only tracked if someone can be bothered to scan it? Why are they not scanned when they're picked up and received at each point so your system knows where it is?? Is it that hard?
    I would love to know what the point of paying extra for express is if you can not deliver on your "next day delivery" promise. Same state too in metro delivery zones! Poor form Aus Post! I should be getting used to it by now though it was only two weeks ago a parcel of mine was lost after being dropped in to my local post office. Of course it wasnt scanned in. AND my kids gift cards that were sent from their grandma in SA were lost too. You cant lose my bills but you can lose something worth money?? Its about time you had some competition. I run a small business from home and send around 10 parcels a week i think ill be looking into a courier service for my business from now on.
    Australia Post, thank you for losing the books I had returned to Ric Publishing! Without a receipt (who keeps receipts for 5 weeks for a posted item anyway?) I am pretty much stuffed and $250 out of pocket!
    • Lee Mullen Complain to ombudsman, they will fire a rocket up APs arse
    • Maria McGeorge I loathe when AP always start off saying "I am sorry blah blah blah" when the person responding is only copying/pasting from a guide within their computer. Would it take that much of an effort to actually write it personally or are they afraid to say the wrong thing? They may as well have robots working in there or are they?
    • Wroger Wrogera Predictive text analysis is pretty advanced. To Aust Post. "Hi your van driver ran my dog over in our drive way and didn't stop." Aus Post Response, "Sorry to hear blah blah blah blah..."
      It took you two weeks to get a letter from Penrith to Richmond. That is ridiculous and unacceptable. It's only a 20 minute drive away!
    I just got back from the post office and what should have cost me $14.00 for x2 7.50 satchels cost me almost $20.00 This ridiculous hiking up prices on EVERYTHING from letters to parcels (when it wasn't cheap in the first place) to post out items causes a lot of stress on people who rely on sites like eBay to have enough for their rent/food/etc . Really Disappointed :(
    Sometimes I wonder if your actually out to piss me off, If it's not parcels arriving and going missing, or notices thru my door that they can't find at the post office, NOW it's parcels arriving with the contents missing from inside it !!!!!
    Thanks, Australia Post, for making it impossible to send parcels to my friends in the United Kingdom. The cheapest price to send a package under 500g is now $17.70. It was expensive before the price hike (at just over $13). The price is OUTRAGEOUS! ...oh, and I checked the Royal Post service in the UK....the same sized parcel would cost 3.50 BP (about $5.11Aus) if it was coming from the UK to Oz. How can you justify your SCANDALOUS prices???????
    Hello, we provide home medical equipment to customers in all areas of Australia. Although our product is fairly large it's only about 1kg, so we found the 3kg jumbo pre-paid express-post satchel very convenient.
    That size pre-paid satchel has now been discontinued and we are forced to use a 5kg satchel. Our cost has gone from about $16 to $23.60. We do not need any extra services apart from tracking.
    The new price is now higher than a freight company for about the same service. Whay heve you removed the 3kg Jumbo satchel? Are you just forcing people like us away from Australia post? Seems illogical.
    ANOTHER SNEAKY DISAPPEARANCE OF SERVICES!!!!! Can you please explain why the instructions to leave a card 'if not at home' has disappeared from Click and SEND site - with the only option of "Please leave in a safe place out of the weather" Is that what we get for the extra price rise...a disgraceful and blatant downgrade of delivery service - less customer service online...20 minutes wait for phone calls CAN YOU EXPLAIN IN CLEAR LANGUAGE WHY THIS HAS BEEN DONE AND WHAT BENEFIT IT WILL GIVE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY FIND THEIR PARCELS THROWN ANYWHERE WITH NO CARD...This is open to abuse from your contractors who can now just scan as delivered without having to leave a card to say their parcel is sitting under a bush near the front door etc .....You simply amaze me Australia Post...not just happy with taking our money are you??? Can you please justify the reasoning behind this decision without a copy and paste management speech
    Have you suffered from recent substantial bottom line increases, a decrease in online sales, unreliable deliveries, poor quality service, changes for the worse and ongoing lost packages? You may be suffering from the officially discovered health concern, "Australia Post-Traumatic Stress". Some early trialed relief treatments include sourcing services elsewhere, boycotts, Facebook rants, nasty letters to Ombudsman, tying up customer service lines, but although these initial treatments are yet to yield desired results, the matter is being taken seriously by those in this field. If you are familiar with any recently trialed tests that have proven partial or completely successful, please feel free to share your results....we also accept any form of thesis for diagnosis and subsequent treatments from excessively paid CEO's...
    I am sorry for the miscommunication over the timeframes involved in looking into a missing parcel. Once an investigation has been lodged, the Delivery Centre staff will talk to the driver who handled your parcel and let us know wher
    e it was carded to. Once they have advised the Customer Care team, we will call you to let you know. This process can take several days so I am not sure why you were advised you would receive a call back later on the same day you called.
    If you have not heard back from us, and have not received any reminder cards for your parcel, after 10 business days, please give us a call back with your reference numbers and we can look into what the delay is for you.
    Your new system, leaves a bit to be desired - I have absolutely no PROOF OF POSTING using the Tracking Satchels. No receipt is printed out, only prints out for old satchel numbers - this is not acceptable as you will require proof of posting for any claims - AP cannot have it all ways, and this matter should be reported to either the ACCC or Ombudsman - I will investigate the appropriate person to contact - in the meantime, please explain the following; -
    Lodged today Tracking No 60001394493098 - SHOWS as "60001394493098
    Product/service: Parcel Post
    Status: No events currently found " this was handed over the counter at 4.27pm today at Haberfield PO 2045 and scanned along with a number of other parcels.
    Also an Express Post Satchel No. 60601420441095 - no receipt either as lodged and it is showing as a INVALID NUMBER - surely Express Post should be trackable????
    What proof is there for any customer that they have actually posted items - easy for AP just to say - sorry cannot find and you have no proof of posting isn't it?
    I await your urgent advice. I am hoping that I can get a sensible answer to these questions.
    Do the words "Do Not Bend" mean anything to you? Just arrived home to find some very important documents carelessly stuffed into our letter box. Hmmm has a stamp saying "Do Not Bend" better fold it in half instead
    I propose we publicly boycott Australia Post from next week. (please like and spread)
    They are already far more expensive than nearly all courier services for parcels and this price increase will be devastating for small businesses which employ 70% of all workers.
    The latest price gouge is being marketed with rhetoric and lies about cost rises. Being a monopoly seems to be not enough market share for the executives at AusPost.
    Business needs affordable, reliable infrastructure to compete. Without it we all lose the tax revenue and jobs. SME's already contend with 10% GST and 400%-1000% lower postage costs from overseas competitors.
    This price hike is only the beginning, Tony Abbot plans to privatise AusPost and close country post offices (which are also banks and essential goods suppliers), sell off the assets and con mums and dads into buying junk 'Telstra float' style shares which plummetted after all the hype of the float was over.
    You WILL save money using couriers for parcels. Take this opportunity to try cheaper, faster, better delivery options eg couriers can do same day delivery.
    People can post details about competitors on this page and other relevant advice. Hijack all the posts here from AusPost so they cannot divert attention away from the price gouge problem.
    We also need to get to the bottom of the price rises, such as FOI requests etc to find out just how much these price increases has to do with the imminent privatisation plans of Tony Abbot.
    What will happen if we don't stop this price gouge?
    ***No more Christmas cards, too expensive
    ***Compared to other developed nations we are paying as much as 4x the price for the same service, plus we have a 10% GST impost and now this price gouge will only further reduce business' competitiveness.
    ***Tony Abbot will go on to privatise Auspost which will mean the closure of regional post offices (post/bank services), greater exception charges, and mums and dads will be conned into buying junk shares like Telstra's miserable decline.
    Tell your customers you will Boycott AusPost.
    On your website show people the cost difference and lower service of using AusPost. Have a price for same day courier delivery, and next to a SURCHARGE for 2-4 days delivery using AusPost.
    Inform your customers, ask them to spread the word.
    It happened to the banks, to Telstra, to power companies, water companies and all resulted in poor value for the taxpayer and massive increases in the costs of living.
    I would just like to know the reason behind the closing of PO business centre 35 Patrick St Hobart.
    As an online business owner that uses your service frequently, this centre was wonderful with the opening hours, location, and customer service. (I found the guys very helpful) not to mention walking in and dropping off my bag of parcels.
    I now have to use the regular post office, which frankly all off them have a line out the door! The closing of the CBD business centre came at a time when AGAIN the postal costs took a sharp rise.
    When asking the lady at the North Hobart PO the reasoning behind the drop of the business centre (after my 15min wait inline with a Santa sack of parcels and a three yr old) she said it was due to not making enough money....If I had a coffee in my hand I would have dropped it.
    With prices increasing over and over, oh...AND over, business centres being relocated OUT of the CBD, I will be looking at an alternative reliable delivery system to keep the costs as low as possible for my customers.
    I would like to know why the CBD PO business centre of Hobart has closed, and if it has relocated, the reason behind the relocation.
  • Roger Corben It is because austpost is run by a bunch of people who are more interested in profit than people, and they needed the money from the sale to pay the CEO's extra incentives.
  • Jerry Red Hi Jess, it seems that all FB business pages would have a mix of the good, the bad, and the ugly. A+ = GOOD, EXCELLENT , B+= BAD C+= PASSABLE. Looking at your present track recored it only is looking pretty ugly to me=F for FAIL. Not only a F plastered ALL over your custoer feed back, but the general silent Australian public feel the same way. Why on earth you think that shutting down, relocating business centre's during a time of upheaval with price increases and dropping warranty security honestly beats me. You as a worker of this company can knock of at 6.00pm and everything flies. Thats fine. But to us small Australian business owners that value our customer service long after business hours, because we genuinely care about delivering a sound and genuine product, it seems a kick in the teeth, belly and heart for all we have supported. What your company is doing to us on a whole (small business owners) is not far from robbery. I will be taking my business else where not only for my customers but for making my job that little bit easier (EG-not freaken standing in line with a truck load of parcels at a non designated business centre that apparently provide a reputable service) My local office works is only a block away, don't underestimate how much competition you are up against. I will be using their postal service for all future sales from my small, growing, expanding Australian business. I really do hope (for your sake) if you believe in the company you are working for that every complaint is printed out, and handed to the director, manager, CEO during important meeting hours, and they genuinely have a long hard look at themselves and what they are doing to the Australian public as a whole that rely on your postal system. Mine and my customers $12500 that has been poured into your business over the last two yrs ends now. Yours sincerely- an ex customer.
Why is it that AP staff can reply on here, however an actual complaint sent using the 'contact us' form on your website a week ago still has no reply?
Apart from your massive price hikes, your contractors 'delivery' is appalling. Once again, we received THREE collection cards yesterday- hidden in the bundle of letters HANDED to a resident, which also contained two letters for totally different addresses. As per usual, the 20km round trip to the PO was made, to find that there were in fact SEVEN!! parcels to be collected, 5 of which were small parcels. In addition to this, there were two magazines- do your contractors not deliver these mail articles either? Our door is in clear view of the driveway, so do not tell me that the contractor cannot leave line of sight of their vehicle- they are HANDING US THE PRE-FILLED COLLECTION CARDS for ORDINARY parcels that do not require a signature!!!
In light of the costs that CONSUMERS pay for your SERVICE- what are your Delivery Service Standards in this situation? Many times we have emailed, called and asked in person about these, and been fobbed off or directed elsewhere. WHY CAN WE NOT GET AN ANSWER??
The price changes are a second concern- what business would get away with increasing prices by 40% overnight without being reported for price gouging?? Is your aim to push customers to the courier company that Australia Post acquired? Millions of people are unhappy about this situation, and usually it pays to listen to the people who are using your ' service' ;-)
(By the way- do not bother with a stock standard copy and paste answer, because as you may have noticed, it just makes people more cranky!! ;-) )
  • Danielle Arthur WHAT!! Dear Ben from AP... Your prices are not competative at all. It is now cheaper to buy from other countries small businesses then supporting and buying from businesses here in AUS! My business is screwed. Thanks Aus post for making it even more of a struggle to get a business off the ground! Erin, how many times have you been told this will be looked into?? Good luck with ever getting an answer!
  • Samantha Hingley Crazy!
    AP is attempting to reply to email complaints... Is there that many that it takes weeks to get on top of it?
    I would have thought that a business receiving so many complaints that they cannot be answered in 24-48 hours needs to take a good look at the 'service' they provide. I will be taking my business elsewhere as there has been a decrease in service with an increase of price. It took 3 weeks for a registered parcel to travel from Melb to Brisbane and was only scanned when I lodged them!
    Sure Australia is a big place to service and online purchases are soaring, but continually hiking the prices with little increase in that service is disgusting. In fact the quoted delivery time has INCREASED since last years price rises!
  • Megan Robb I also fail to see any competitiveness in pricing - perhaps a few years back when the standard of service was exactly the same as it is now it had some semblance of value. In the past years I have watched price rise and price rise - for what? You may be delivering more parcels.. but you should be creating more income from those parcels. There is NO need to have doubled the price the consumer pays in only 24 months!
    Erin - hope you get your issues sorted asap! I can only imagine your frustration at the situation Thankfully my local AP workers are amazing - maybe some of their awesomeness could be rubbed off onto the powers that be.. might be the only way to get the price hikes stopped and matters resolved...
  • Erin Jackson that sucks, Joanne
  • Joanne Keevers At least you people have a mail service. I am 9km from the nearest PO and have no mail delivery, and have to suffer the insult of paying $35 a year for a "subsidised" PO box. Bloody joke :$
  • Erin Jackson The previous reference number via email was 130404000831. There are others but as I am not at home I do not have the reference numbers for the phone complaints.
  • Erin Jackson the staff at the local retail outlet are fantastic, I have no problems with them at all, they go above and beyond expectations
  • Erin Jackson So what happens when we keep getting cards? In the past I have complained, parcels get delivered for a few weeks then back to this situation. We are in a residential area, not a remote farm or anything. It is not good enough to give a answer online without there being action. I am quite sure that our house is not the only one that is not receiving an equal mail service , which we pay for!
  • Erin Jackson Its been going on for months., Danielle
  • Erin Jackson I will also add, I am STILL waiting for an answer for my post from 5th April regarding a very similar event. Will I actually get a non-automated or original reply to a post? Will ANY of us customers be told the truth, or will AP delete posts and comments because its too difficult to answer us?
    Australia Post. I know this will likely get me no where, but I feel the need (like many others) to share my dreadful experiences with your 'service'.
    Yesterday I came back from a long weekend away, to find 2 different cards for 2 different post offices in completely different parts of my city. The cards were not fully inserted into the mailbox, so they were all but unreadable after being rained on. I went to the first post office to collect the first item. I then traveled across town to collect the second item, only to be told that the parcel had not been returned to the post office, and that I had to chase it up.
    In the last couple of months, I’ve had parcels thrown over the fence onto a muddy rain drenched lawn, parcels left in the rain, parcels left stuck in the fence where anyone could take them, 3 different neighbour’s mail, another person's mail ripped open and thrown on my lawn, parcels delivered to a completely different street (I only received it by chance that it went to my daughter’s teacher’s house, and she recognised the name!), and now I have to sit on hold for who knows how long, wasting more of my money, in order to chase up this parcel that I should already have that is missing because you've screwed yet another thing up.
    I have completely lost even basic faith that my mail will turn up. Nice work!
  • Elissa Lovestoknit Yeah, I'm totally excited for that. Also totally excited that I can receive something from Germany for about the same price as it costs to send a similar parcel to the next town.
  • Cathryn Williams That is something I don't understand. I lived in the uk and they had post 6 days a week, twice a day and guaranteed next day delivery. We wait 12 days for post from Sydney to WA.   • Elissa Lovestoknit As it turns out, I was only on hold for 10 minutes, and the people on the phone were infinitely more helpful and considerate than the locals here. But of course my missing parcel is now back at the mail centre where I STARTED my trip this morning to collect mail. sigh.
  •
So in the last few months I've had:
- A package from Sweden go missing into thin air
- A package from Ireland returned to sender due to "incorrect address" which is total bullshit since the one a gave is 110% correct and I was sent a photo of the address that was written on the package.
- Another package from Sweden that was sent at the start of March that hasn't arrived.
And somehow you've found a excuse to raise your prices ?
well done australia post. One of my charges have just doubled $50 last week to post a box, this week same box $95! If your plan is to kill online retail in Australia you are on the right track. I certainly won't be paying that I will give the box to a courier. What are you going to do when all you have left is overseas packages to deliver, who will be paying then. Another well thought out plan by some penny counting accountant, oh and you should change your name from Australia Post to something else there is nothing true blue Australian about you, you are just greedy pigs.
  • Australia Post Hi Kimberley,
    We know that price increases can present a challenge and take the decision to raise our prices very seriously.
    Like all business Australia Post is operating in a challenging business environment with increasing external costs – particularly related to delivery, transport and energy. We deliver to more than 11 million addressed and must expand our capacity to delivery to an additional 200,000 addressed each year.
    To achieve this we continually reduce our operating costs, improve the efficiency of our network, adjust our prices and enhance our products.
    Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
    Laura
  • Kimberley Barter please don't insult me with your stock standard cut and paste apology from the PR department, it doesn't cut it. You have no idea what it is like to operate in a "challenging business environment". Perhaps you should take a look at the amount of people who are up in arms about these excessive charges and re-evaluate your position. Instead of running at a loss for overseas deliveries perhaps you should CHARGE them, and concentrate on supporting Australian based businesses!
  • Tabatha Voss Well said indeed Kimberley.
  • Lola Harrison Exactly. They wouldn't know a 'challenging business environment' if it bit them on the behind!
Now using Couriers Please for my web sale deliveries. They are cheaper and they pick up from my store. It usually takes about 20 minutes standing in a line at AP before I can get back to the store. Valuable time wasted. We charge a flat rate for delivery and it often costs much more for the postage than we charge. When you add packaging costs, it is now just too dear to use Australia Post.
Yes I have signed the petition and urge all Australians to do so. don't you just love the cut and paste replies from AP on this site. That must be a full time job for someone at AP.
  • Patrick Beck I've found a courier that will deliver my 3kg satchels for under $10 each!! Fastway couriers will now receive a large portion of the $30,000 I spend at Australia Post annually. Also looking forward to avoiding the ridiculous queues at the AP outlet.... A 20 minute wait is NOT unusual!
  • Four Seasons Herbs Fastways have been fantastic since we changed from Australia Post. They pick up my parcels from my door and deliver to the customer with full tracking that actually works, and the deliveries are quicker than AP's supposed 'express service' Finally, we are getting exactly what we pay for!
Hi Australia Post, I posted three important parcels on Easter Thursday with tracking. You lost them all - yep, every single one! Thanks very much for causing me immense stress, big hassles with my clients and costing our small business lots of money. Tracking is completely useless because the only scan is the one that shows we lodged them - somehow no one has seen them or scanned them since. How dare you raise shipping prices when you can't even track the parcels, let alone deliver them? We have spent days super stressed and I am now facing the prospect of having to buy more stock from overseas (at significant cost) to fulfil the orders with no compensation for the time, energy or money wasted. As far as I am concerned Australia Post = can't be trusted with our parcels. I can't tell you how much I appreciate not being able to sleep at night because of your incompetence!
  • Rowena Beresford Thanks Alice, but I had already lodged an investigation and they told me it could take up to 10 days to even get an answer (let alone find my parcels). Is that still the case?
  • Rowena Beresford I've just lodged a complaint with the ACCC for false advertising and not providing the service we paid for. Let's see how that goes.
  • Camilla Choake Sounds like they are taking money under false pretences. If they charge you extra to have your parcels tracked but they cannot track them then that is false advertising and Fair Trading should be involved. Or are Government Departments exempt from the laws that everyone else have to abide by?
  • Rowena Beresford Thanks Becky Southwell, it is completely frustrating that such little care is taken no matter what you do. We spend up to $30k a year with Australia Post and I honestly don't know why we bother
  • Becky Southwell Things obviously haven't changed much then... I had an antique sewing machine delivered by Australia Post fragile stickers all over it well I felt the rumble through my concrete verandah as it was delivered... It survived 2 world wars but couldn't survive Australia Post! Hope you get a good outcome Rowena but it still won't make up for the frustration and disappointment
  • Rowena Beresford If only Nix lol
  • Nikki Nicholson OMG! Was that my massive bottle of Moët & massage voucher?? Lol
  • Rowena Beresford Thanks Heather, they reckon you can only get compensation if you sent the parcel by registered post.
  • Becky Southwell Let's hope I get my stuff I just had to post some of my equipment home cause I couldn't fit it on the plane...it's going via tracked post lets see if I get mine!
  • Camilla Choake That's criminal, if a private company tried to get away with that sort of service they would very soon find they didn't have any customers left.
    What a pity Australia Post can get away with this just because they are a Government Agency and act as if they are above the law.
  • Rowena Beresford So just got a call - they couldn't find any trace of my parcels. There will be no compensation for having lost them. Only after I asked, they agreed to refund my postage as a 'gesture of goodwill' - that is an absolute joke. As far as I am concerned the police should be involved. As Camilla Choake said Australia Post, you are taking money under false pretences. Where is your responsibility for being incompetent?
  • Rowena Beresford Totally Janis Burton! Australia Post is getting so expensive and unreliable that couriers are looking more and more attractive. At least with couriers if there's a problem they investigate and get back to you within a day or so. Ten days is a joke. What are we supposed to do with our customers in the meantime?
  • Janis Burton Like banging your head against a brick wall!!! How does Fastway or the like stack up? Time for cost analysis
  • Rowena Beresford Thanks Jacqui Carling-Rodgers, but I don't hold out much hope. As Camilla commented earlier it's criminal that you can pay for tracking and they don't bother scanning it, don't care that the tracking is useless and take no responsibility for the outcome. Absolutely ridiculous. I sent another parcel yesterday from Springwood to Windsor which is about 20 minutes away so you'd think it would get there overnight. Tracked it today because my client wants to know why it hasn't turned up and it's in Sydney about 75 minutes away. Talk about inefficient. They sent it there to be sorted!
  • Jacqui Carling-Rodgers Good lucky with all of that Rowie, I hope the parcels are found for you.
  • Rowena Beresford Hi Laura, yes I have started an investigation. Frustratingly they wouldn't allow us to do that until this week even though it was obvious from the tracking that something had gone very wrong. I have had investigations before on missing parcels and never had a good result so I have no confidence these boxes will be found.
  • Heather Jane Elliott There IS a from you can fill out to claim compensation - I have seen it!
  • Australia Post Hi Rowena,
    I am sorry to hear about your parcels not arriving at their intended destination.
    Have you started an investigation with us for any of the parcels to find out what may have happened to the parcels?
    Laura
  • Australia Post Dear Rowena,
    I'm sorry four parcels you posted at Easter have not been recieved I can understand this would be quite upsetting for you and the addressee's.
    If you woudln't mind providing me the tracking numbers I will check my tracking system for you.
    I look forward to hearing from you soon.
    Deb
so far this year Australia post have lost 2 parcels Guaranteed Next day delivery, later found out company policy is the driver must not leave his vehicle where he cannot see it,,
Then Australia post smashed a camera to pieces between noosa and Brisbane, it was wrapped well in bubble wrap and a strong box, the only way to damage it would be to drive over it with a forklift.
latest escapade is to deliver my Guaranteed next day delivery parcel to the wrong address 6 days after it was posted...
I think its CRIMINAL that Australia Post can lable a product as Guaranteed Next Day delivery and constantly fail to deliver,, anyone up for class action
