It's true, not everyone in Australia Post is incompetent, dishonest, apathetic etc...
Or a utterly clueless....
But my own personal experiences have left a seriously shitty taste in my mouth, to the point that Australia Post will NEVER EVER again get any business what so ever - if I can help it at all....
Where ever possible -
All parcels are being sent by courier.
All correspondence is being sent via email.
All bills are by direct debit, credit card, over the phone etc...
There is now NO reason at all, to engage them for anything.
A passport? I don't believe in taking sides on a round planet - it's everyone's home.
I sent all of the managers a letter stating -
"Consider this to be your letter of resignation. etc..
Your management and service is so appalling that I have decided that you are no longer working for me".
This is what is sent or now included with all contact with prospective business's.

"We have a very firm "We do Not Use Australia Post" policy for all transactions.
We only accept deliveries by courier. Any material delivered by Australia Post will be refused."

- Amanda Guilfoyle Took my express post parcel two weeks to get to my mother in QLD from WA...what's the point of complaining when they don't refund you, they just give you another bag for more shitty service..
And here in WA in I am a stay at home person and don't go out..I have a loud doorbell on my front door, yet I keep getting cards for parcels..one day I was out the front watering the driveway plants and a delivery man drove into our driveway, sat in his car obviously writing a card out and as he was taking so long I was watching him..
He got out of his van and put the card into MY letterbox so I chased him..he said to me..oh I knocked on the door but no one answered..I said you did NOT because I was standing there in front of my own door!!
He just said..oh well..and gave me the parcel and drove off..I have had the absolute worst experiences with AP here in WA than any other state I have lived6 hours ago · Edited · Like · 3 - Michelle Killeen

I had tickets sent back 'return to sender' because the postie kept trying to deliver (and leaving the reminder cards) to the wrong address, when my address was clearly printed on the envelope and is clearly displayed on our house.
Their response was 'oh well, you'll have to contact the sender and get them sent again'. I'm just lucky that I'd had an email to say the tickets were on their way so I knew who'd sent them. Their service all round is disgraceful.4 hours ago via mobile · Like · 1 - Tonie Hudgell

Not to mention it will then probably take a 10 minutes phone conversation to do this over the phone. I am sorry for the miscommunication over the timeframes involved in looking into a missing parcel. Once an investigation has been lodged, the Delivery Centre staff will talk to the driver who handled your parcel and let us know where it was carded to. Once they have advised the Customer Care team, we will call you to let you know. This process can take several days so I am not sure why you were advised you would receive a call back later on the same day you called.
If you have not heard back from us, and have not received any reminder cards for your parcel, after 10 business days, please give us a call back with your reference numbers and we can look into what the delay is for you.

Looking at your present track recored it only is looking pretty ugly to me=F for FAIL. Not only a F plastered ALL over your custoer feed back, but the general silent Australian public feel the same way. Why on earth you think that shutting down, relocating business centre's during a time of upheaval with price increases and dropping warranty security honestly beats me. You as a worker of this company can knock of at 6.00pm and everything flies. Thats fine. But to us small Australian business owners that value our customer service long after business hours, because we genuinely care about delivering a sound and genuine product, it seems a kick in the teeth, belly and heart for all we have supported. What your company is doing to us on a whole (small business owners) is not far from robbery. I will be taking my business else where not only for my customers but for making my job that little bit easier (EG-not freaken standing in line with a truck load of parcels at a non designated business centre that apparently provide a reputable service) My local office works is only a block away, don't underestimate how much competition you are up against. I will be using their postal service for all future sales from my small, growing, expanding Australian business. I really do hope (for your sake) if you believe in the company you are working for that every complaint is printed out, and handed to the director, manager, CEO during important meeting hours, and they genuinely have a long hard look at themselves and what they are doing to the Australian public as a whole that rely on your postal system. Why is it that AP staff can reply on here, however an actual complaint sent using the 'contact us' form on your website a week ago still has no reply?
Apart from your massive price hikes, your contractors 'delivery' is appalling. Once again, we received THREE collection cards yesterday- hidden in the bundle of letters HANDED to a resident, which also contained two letters for totally different addresses. As per usual, the 20km round trip to the PO was made, to find that there were in fact SEVEN!! parcels to be collected, 5 of which were small parcels. In addition to this, there were two magazines- do your contractors not deliver these mail articles either? Our door is in clear view of the driveway, so do not tell me that the contractor cannot leave line of sight of their vehicle- they are HANDING US THE PRE-FILLED COLLECTION CARDS for ORDINARY parcels that do not require a signature!!!
In light of the costs that CONSUMERS pay for your SERVICE- what are your Delivery Service Standards in this situation? Many times we have emailed, called and asked in person about these, and been fobbed off or directed elsewhere. WHY CAN WE NOT GET AN ANSWER??
The price changes are a second concern- what business would get away with increasing prices by 40% overnight without being reported for price gouging?? Is your aim to push customers to the courier company that Australia Post acquired? Millions of people are unhappy about this situation, and usually it pays to listen to the people who are using your ' service' ;-)
(By the way- do not bother with a stock standard copy and paste answer, because as you may have noticed, it just makes people more cranky!! ;-) )

AP is attempting to reply to email complaints... Is there that many that it takes weeks to get on top of it?
I would have thought that a business receiving so many complaints that they cannot be answered in 24-48 hours needs to take a good look at the 'service' they provide. I will be taking my business elsewhere as there has been a decrease in service with an increase of price. It took 3 weeks for a registered parcel to travel from Melb to Brisbane and was only scanned when I lodged them!
Sure Australia is a big place to service and online purchases are soaring, but continually hiking the prices with little increase in that service is disgusting. - Australia Post. I know this will likely get me no where, but I feel the need (like many others) to share my dreadful experiences with your 'service'.
Yesterday I came back from a long weekend away, to find 2 different cards for 2 different post offices in completely different parts of my city. The cards were not fully inserted into the mailbox, so they were all but unreadable after being rained on. I went to the first post office to collect the first item. I then traveled across town to collect the second item, only to be told that the parcel had not been returned to the post office, and that I had to chase it up.
In the last couple of months, I’ve had parcels thrown over the fence onto a muddy rain drenched lawn, parcels left in the rain, parcels left stuck in the fence where anyone could take them, 3 different neighbour’s mail, another person's mail ripped open and thrown on my lawn, parcels delivered to a completely different street (I only received it by chance that it went to my daughter’s teacher’s house, and she recognised the name!), and now I have to sit on hold for who knows how long, wasting more of my money, in order to chase up this parcel that I should already have that is missing because you've screwed yet another thing up.
I have completely lost even basic faith that my mail will turn up. Nice work!Unlike · - You and 7 others like this.

- Another package from Sweden that was sent at the start of March that hasn't arrived.
And somehow you've found a excuse to raise your prices ?

well done australia post. One of my charges have just doubled $50 last week to post a box, this week same box $95! If your plan is to kill online retail in Australia you are on the right track. I certainly won't be paying that I will give the box to a courier. What are you going to do when all you have left is overseas packages to deliver, who will be paying then. Another well thought out plan by some penny counting accountant, oh and you should change your name from Australia Post to something else there is nothing true blue Australian about you, you are just greedy pigs.

- Australia Post Hi Kimberley,
We know that price increases can present a challenge and take the decision to raise our prices very seriously.
Like all business Australia Post is operating in a challenging business environment with increasing external costs – particularly related to delivery, transport and energy. We deliver to more than 11 million addressed and must expand our capacity to delivery to an additional 200,000 addressed each year.
To achieve this we continually reduce our operating costs, improve the efficiency of our network, adjust our prices and enhance our products.
Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Laura - Kimberley Barter please don't insult me with your stock standard cut and paste apology from the PR department, it doesn't cut it. You have no idea what it is like to operate in a "challenging business environment". Now using Couriers Please for my web sale deliveries. They are cheaper and they pick up from my store. It usually takes about 20 minutes standing in a line at AP before I can get back to the store. Valuable time wasted. We charge a flat rate for delivery and it often costs much more for the postage than we charge. When you add packaging costs, it is now just too dear to use Australia Post.
Yes I have signed the petition and urge all Australians to do so. don't you just love the cut and paste replies from AP on this site. That must be a full time job for someone at AP.

Hi Australia Post, I posted three important parcels on Easter Thursday with tracking. You lost them all - yep, every single one! Thanks very much for causing me immense stress, big hassles with my clients and costing our small business lots of money. Tracking is completely useless because the only scan is the one that shows we lodged them - somehow no one has seen them or scanned them since. How dare you raise shipping prices when you can't even track the parcels, let alone deliver them? We have spent days super stressed and I am now facing the prospect of having to buy more stock from overseas (at significant cost) to fulfil the orders with no compensation for the time, energy or money wasted. As far as I am concerned Australia Post = can't be trusted with our parcels. I can't tell you how much I appreciate not being able to sleep at night because of your incompetence!

- Rowena Beresford Thanks Alice, but I had already lodged an investigation and they told me it could take up to 10 days to even get an answer (let alone find my parcels). Is that still the case?Like · Reply · Wednesday at 4:47pm via mobile

I have updated this information into your files for you and hopefully you will be receiving a response soon.
Alice - Rowena Beresford I've just lodged a complaint with the ACCC for false advertising and not providing the service we paid for. Let's see how that goes.Like · Reply · 1 · 6 hours ago via mobile
- Camilla Choake Sounds like they are taking money under false pretences. If they charge you extra to have your parcels tracked but they cannot track them then that is false advertising and Fair Trading should be involved. Or are Government Departments exempt from the laws that everyone else have to abide by?Like · Reply · 1 · Tuesday at 6:38pm via mobile
- Rowena Beresford Thanks Becky Southwell, it is completely frustrating that such little care is taken no matter what you do. We spend up to $30k a year with Australia Post and I honestly don't know why we botherLike · Reply · 1 · Tuesday at 4:52pm via mobile
- Becky Southwell Things obviously haven't changed much then... I had an antique sewing machine delivered by Australia Post fragile stickers all over it well I felt the rumble through my concrete verandah as it was delivered... It survived 2 world wars but couldn't survive Australia Post! Hope you get a good outcome Rowena but it still won't make up for the frustration and disappointmentLike · Reply · 1 · Tuesday at 4:42pm via mobile

- Camilla Choake That's criminal, if a private company tried to get away with that sort of service they would very soon find they didn't have any customers left.
What a pity Australia Post can get away with this just because they are a Government Agency and act as if they are above the law.Like · Reply · 6 hours ago via mobile - Rowena Beresford So just got a call - they couldn't find any trace of my parcels. There will be no compensation for having lost them. Only after I asked, they agreed to refund my postage as a 'gesture of goodwill' - that is an absolute joke. As far as I am concerned the police should be involved. As Camilla Choake said Australia Post, you are taking money under false pretences. Where is your responsibility for being incompetent?Like · Reply · 7 hours ago
- Rowena Beresford Totally Janis Burton! Australia Post is getting so expensive and unreliable that couriers are looking more and more attractive. At least with couriers if there's a problem they investigate and get back to you within a day or so. Ten days is a joke. What are we supposed to do with our customers in the meantime?Like · Reply · Wednesday at 9:15pm via mobile

- Rowena Beresford Thanks Jacqui Carling-Rodgers, but I don't hold out much hope. As Camilla commented earlier it's criminal that you can pay for tracking and they don't bother scanning it, don't care that the tracking is useless and take no responsibility for the outcome. Absolutely ridiculous. I sent another parcel yesterday from Springwood to Windsor which is about 20 minutes away so you'd think it would get there overnight. Tracked it today because my client wants to know why it hasn't turned up and it's in Sydney about 75 minutes away. Talk about inefficient. They sent it there to be sorted!Like · Reply · Wednesday at 4:51pm via mobile
- Jacqui Carling-Rodgers Good lucky with all of that Rowie, I hope the parcels are found for you.
- Rowena Beresford Hi Laura, yes I have started an investigation. Frustratingly they wouldn't allow us to do that until this week even though it was obvious from the tracking that something had gone very wrong. I have had investigations before on missing parcels and never had a good result so I have no confidence these boxes will be found.Like · Reply · Tuesday at 3:16pm via mobile

- Australia Post Hi Rowena,
I am sorry to hear about your parcels not arriving at their intended destination.
Have you started an investigation with us for any of the parcels to find out what may have happened to the parcels?
Laura - Australia Post Dear Rowena,
I'm sorry four parcels you posted at Easter have not been recieved I can understand this would be quite upsetting for you and the addressee's.
If you woudln't mind providing me the tracking numbers I will check my tracking system for you.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

so far this year Australia post have lost 2 parcels Guaranteed Next day delivery, later found out company policy is the driver must not leave his vehicle where he cannot see it,,
Then Australia post smashed a camera to pieces between noosa and Brisbane, it was wrapped well in bubble wrap and a strong box, the only way to damage it would be to drive over it with a forklift.
latest escapade is to deliver my Guaranteed next day delivery parcel to the wrong address 6 days after it was posted...
I think its CRIMINAL that Australia Post can lable a product as Guaranteed Next Day delivery and constantly fail to deliver,, anyone up for class action
