This is NORMAL for Australia Post.
On their Facebook Page today - aside from the usual turning up really late to start responding to complaints etc.,
This is what came up.

ATTENTION,
I had a missed messenger post courier parcel from Sydney to Melbourne on the 24th of September with reference number 3251698.
I rang 13 13 20 and re-booked the delivery for friday (today). I was told there was NO PICK-UP ALLOWED at the depot, so I took the day off work in order to stay home and take delivery of my parcel.
At 12:30 today i called the number again and asked for a status update. The lady on the other end said it was on board for delivery and would be with me at some time before the end of the day. I thanked her and continued to wait.
By 3:30pm I got a bit worried so i called the number again to get a status update. I got through to Helen who kindly offered to call the driver to see when he/she would be at my address. Helen told me the driver has said they will be at my address in 30 mins, to make it safe 45mins. So i thanked her and continued to wait.
I was waiting downstairs in my lobby so i wouldn't miss the courier as i live in an apartment building. So i definitely know they didn't come.
Anyway, it gets to 4:55pm with no word so i decide to call back, when Angela answers. She took my details and said something about the parcel not even being on board for delivery today?? She promises to call the driver and get back to me ASAP with an answer.
By 5:30pm i am well and truly annoyed that I had waited all day for a courier that never came. I call back, get back onto Angela again who again tells me she hasn't been able to contact the courier and that she was going to try again straight away and call me right back.
It is now 6:54pm and no-one has called back. And i dont have my parcel.
Couple of things:
- WHY don't you allow pickup from your depot in Port Melbourne, as this would mean i wouldn't have to SIT AROUND AND WASTE MY TIME WAITING FOR COURIERS THAT OBVIOUSLY AREN'T COMING?
- WHAT are you going to do for me now that I still don't have a parcel THAT I TOOK A WHOLE DAY OFF WORK TO WAIT FOR?
- WHO can i contact to make a FORMAL COMPLAINT about the lack of organisation, lack of options and lack of respect for people who move their lives around for deliveries that NEVER COME?
I am more than a little upset at this whole situation. One problem after another!
Please let me know who i can speak to regarding how to deal with this matter URGENTLY! I NEED MY PARCEL IT IS IMPORTANT!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unfortunately - As far as Australia Post goes - fucking the customer around is just NORMAL for them.
This is why people HATE Australia Post and the never ending stream of bullshit that people have to deal with.
When it comes to getting stuff done, this is why I am prepared to pay more to KEEP them out of the supply chain, than in it.
It's like King Midas and the bad fairy.
Everything they touch turns to shit and it just gets worse from there.
Use couriers.......
This is what came up.
