More people dump Australia Post, and exit the revolving door for good.
The days of the local post office being the centre of the town are LONG gone....
There are plenty of post offices, that are run by people who really ought to have never been given the contract, the service and attitudes are SO bad, that if the competition opened across the road, they would be out of business overnight.
Yes the following people complain - probably a few of the visible ones amongst the millions of people who do and yes, maybe perhaps the area manager might waggle their finger at them.... and then what?
There was never a test to understand customer service or basic consumer ethics to get the job - only the capacity to rubber stamp forms and talk corporate speak.
Marayong LPO (NSW) has to be the worst post office I have ever been to.
In the five years my husband and I have lived in Marayong, we have always dreaded any trips to this post office.
The staff are rude, and make many customers feel as if they are a bother.
Today (28/1/14) - I attended the post office approximately 5 minutes before closing time to collect my parcel, and the staff member who served me told me I was rude for coming so late, and when I told him I had a full time job and struggled to get there any earlier, he said 'well, next time I won't serve you at all'.
This is the last straw. I do not want any of my parcels left at Marayong Post Office - I would rather travel to go collect them than go there.
I am not alone in my feelings of this post office either (see http://www.truelocal.com.au/ business/ marayong-licensed-post-office/ marayong).
I will be diverting my mail to avoid Marayong LPO, but should not have to go to such extreme measures.
- They sound disgusting. but i must admit i have only ever come across two exceptional staff of Australia post not at my local ourimbah po but had to go all the way to Darwin... pretty sad
- Australia Post Hi Natalie,
I’m so sorry to hear what you experienced in the Marayong Post Office yesterday. This is certainly not acceptable behaviour. Going to the post office should be a pleasant, enjoyable experience.
I would really like to pass this onto the Area Manager so they can ensure staff are providing a high level of customer service at all times. Can you please send me a private message with the following details so that I can do this?
-your address
-contact number
-email address
-name or description of staff member
-URL of this post
We won’t be using your details for anything other than logging this complaint. We require your contact details in case we need to contact you in regards to this.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Alex.

Sexist, rude, inefficient, unhelpful... As you can see, the complaints weren't just there for a few days or weeks, they have been there for years, way too many parcels have disappeared from this place, yet little has changed. It's a Bully Office.
Their disappointing service and rude, discriminatory behaviour is not something that can be changed through a phone call or a letter. Just because it's privately owned, doesn't mean that it can be so so so below EARTH standard.

Get your Carlton North franchisees to smarten their act up.
-inconsistent with ID checks upon parcel collection
- understaffed during peak times
-intimidating customers after specific services during peak times
-generally unhelpful when asked common questions pertaining to passports
- floor disgusting and shelves dirty
-confusing signage which surely alone falls outside auspost's corporate style guidelines
Thanks,
Lachy
