Australia Post is a Career Criminals Dream Job

It really is...

Thanks for stealing and cashing my sons gift voucher Aust Post and saying sorry nothing we can do about it.
Oh and I hope the "scratchies" that were posted and missing on the same day won nothing. You obviously have a staff member stealing and know who it is (i do know about the cameras you have at the mailing centres) but wont take responsibility for my loss.
The $100 I spend per year on xmas cards is now forever forfeited... I will move with the times and send ecards. They can only get stolen in cyber space.
And I hope the skum in Rockhampton who cashed the gift vouchers gets hit by the karma bus.

  • Chris Leedham I've had a lot of mail go missing some worth a lot of money I suspect my postie is stealing my mail you seem to have the same prob does not look good aus post

  • Cherie Hogan Fisher posted from Gladstone and cashed in Rockhampton 2 days later. Didnt even make it to their destination on Mt Isa. The sorting center i am guessing.

Australia Post..... You need to lift your game!!! I have on online business posting out product to customers via your company...... 3 customers in the last week have asked where there parcel is....... One was lodged at my local post office at 2pm and then was marked as being at the mail fail facility centre the following day at lunch time....... Why when the facility collects from the post office at about 4:30 pm was is not scanned through the system until the following day???
I live in the UK and have sent post to my brother in Perth. The first was a Christmas card with some family photographs enclosed- it was opened and the photos removed. The second was a birthday card, just a card, and it was opened too? Is this the usual practice for all post sent to Australia?
And parcel I sent to my niece for Christmas still hasn't arrived. Well there is always another Christmas...

Hi there. I live in Hobart, and I was sent an invitation from within Hobart yet it never arrived. I am just wondering how this happens in a little city like ours, and what happens to all these things that seem to go missing? Thanks.

I have been collecting evidence for my court case, set for 30th January. Leon's Fine Dry Cleaning have sent me a letter saying that they themselves have never had any of their items stolen or go missing whilst in their possession. They say that only 3 wedding dresses have even gone missing AFTER they have been posted back to the customer. And guess what? All 3 dresses were destined for the Mackay Region, something suss there I think.

In the lead up to Christmas and knowing that everyone will soon start to post christmas gifts far and wide to loved ones, I thought I might share a little bit of info about the services of Australia Post that I have learnt in my quest to find my wedding dress.

Firstly, NONE of Australia Post services guarantee delivery which make ALL parcels fair game for 'going missing'. It may say 'guaranteed (next day) delivery' in big letters on the sachel but when you read the fine print it says otherwise.

* If you send a parcel unregistered and it goes missing, you are entitled to up to $50 compensation.

* If you send a parcel registered and it goes missing, you are entitled to up to $100 compensation. This is a point to really take note of as many people seem to believe that if you register a parcel and it goes missing that they are able to be fully compensated for the value of the parcel, not true!

* You will only be compensated for the full value of the parcel if you have paid for extra insurance. In this case, depening on where you live, it may be cheaper to book yourself a plane ride and deliver the parcel yourself, seriously.

* There is also Express Post, Platinum Express Post and so on. You may feel better by sending your parcel via these services but again, they do not guarantee delivery nor necesarily provide adequate tracking, despite that fact that you have paid extra for this.

Not the news I was hoping to share but I was unsuccessful today

There was a case very similar to mine that was heard in 2009 down in the ACT; the applicant won. In this case the person sent a designer briefcase unregistered between Canberra and Perth and it never made it to Perth (isn't it ironic that many nicer mail items 'go missing'???) I used this case quite alot for reference, I even contacted the applicant and he has been assisting me with advice. The cases were so similar that you could have swapped the word 'briefcase' for 'wedding dress' and they would read almost identical.

Alas, not all Judges think alike and today was not my day. I am now weighing up my options; I believe I may be able to appeal the decision so I will spend a few days thinking about that and then decide.

Thank you all for your support and kind words, it makes it all a little easier knowing you're on the side lines

Australia Post workers are stealing from us.

Sent my son a gift voucher for his birthday value $100,should have arrived to him the next day.
He rang me 5 days after me posting it saying what was in the envelope as it had a Aust post sticker on it with “this item may have been tampered “..The envelope had a slit along one edge.

A Aust post worker had taken the gift voucher.
The voucher is the same as a visa card size and was placed in a birthday card then slid into the envelope.
No claim is available.

Re: Australia Post workers are stealing from us.

i used to get aust post to deliver flyers. (in my previous business)

i used to do the same suburbs, 3 weeks apart, for 5 or 6 hits.

i found it funny when i noticed certain suburbs, where i knew my product would be a hit, were not responding AT ALL like other suburbs near by.

i then got 2 calls, within a week, from 2 people two streets away from each other, with the same story "I've been looking for a product like yours for ages. So i rang straight away."

This was on the final delivery, so i said " but havent you gotten 4 flyers already , over the last 3 months" - they both said NO.

i made a complaint, and auspost "INVESTIGATED" it.

It took them 2 months to investigate. Needless to say by that time, no one would remember what post they got before that.

And you know what they did? What the investigation entailed was asking the postie whether he delivered or threw away my flyers.

No brainer what the posties answer was. "I delivered them all"

They even admitted, that if he said he ditched them, he would be sacked on the spot. Doesnt encourage honesty, does it?

Needless to say, i stopped sending unaddressed mail flyers.

Asshats, monopolies are thieves. They dont care if you dont use them. For a lot of things you HAVE TO USE THEM.

Gee, i'd love having customers that have to take my crap, bad service, put the price up all the time, and they can only use me. that would be sweet.

I have received a letter that was opened and i am appalled at this service.

Please do not tell me that australia post are not liable etc etc because i have a LOCK on my letterbox therefore i know that it arrived OPENED AND THE CONTENTS REMOVED. No explanation was given and what is the purpose of this?

I AM DISGUSTED in this service as not only was the letter delayed for some reason but opened.

Come on Australia Post - unfortunately this is the only postal service available here lets work together not against each other.

I believe the Australia Post staff need to go through a much more intensive interview process before you hire dishonest people.

Just a few complaints in the last couple months.

Grandparents sent a parcel to my son, which was never delivered. We checked with them also if they had the correct address on the parcel, which they did. Not 100% sure if it was registered or not, but still, you pay to send something you expect to get it delivered.

Also had birthday cards last month delivered where they were torn and opened up, as if someone were checking if i had money in these cards.

Also today mail up our street was not delivered correctly to every house. We had two doors down's mail delivered to our mailbox, when delivering their mail back to them i noticed they had two door's downs mail from them too.

I'm not really a complainer but my parents have lived here for 26 years and have never had anything go missing or had mail torn up or delivered incorrectly until the last 3 months or so. Just sad to see untrustworthy people take your mail, or have staff deliver your items incorrectly and have untrustworthy neighbours not pass your items along.

Looks to me as a visitor to your country that parcel post is an absolute disaster!

Parcels posted from my friends in Ireland have not arrived at their destination, no "attempted delivery" cards were found, as for TRACKING.....how can you track something when you don't keep a record of "non delivered items"......

I have never heard of anybody in Ireland receiving a returned package because of failed delivery....they must be going to a "recycling" centre !
