Dump the Dummies

I am going to keep this really short.

If you want to keep the really shitty consequences of having Australia Post in your supply chain - then ONLY deal with suppliers who OFFER delivery by courier - first and foremost.....

But if the company or business that your dealing with does not as yet offer shipping by courier, then ask them.

Give them a brief explaination of the problems, that having Australia Post handling your packages has caused you, and ask them to ship your order by courier, and to incorporate this as an option for people to choose from, on their website.

Tell them that every time you get a delivery from them via Australia Post - where they lose / steal / card you when you were there / the express deliveries are slower than regular mail and that takes 2 or 3 weeks, when it should be taking 4 days / tell them that the trips to the post office cost you $50 a trip, when it should be coming to your front door, and their tracking shows the parcel as being delivered when it's not, etc., etc., etc.,

Tell them the story.

Scour this blog and copy paste some links, and info and say, "Hey there are a lot of options out there - can you implement at least some of them? Because I am really fed up with having to deal with my packages getting stolen or getting left near the letter box when they are supposed to be signed for etc. "

I always insist upon doing this.

Every time.

This whole open warfare with Australia Post started with the local agents in the two local post offices, wanting to serve up their bullshit, the managers of Australia Post back them up, and the idiot bored of directors - want to back up the incompetent managers and the local agents.

Well with one phone call, or email etc., I can wipe all of these people who I do not want working for me, out of the supply chain and I can HIRE a whole heap of people who I do want working for me - to deliver, my goods to me, minus all the bullshit that comes with using Australia Post.

Simple......

But sometimes, when ASKING companies / business's to send things by courier - well you do have to deal with the corporate clown mentality.

Despite these looking like quite a few of my ex's - the non responsiveness is the issue.

The sad fact is that many business's and companies are stuffed with really stupid people, who take no interest in the goings on in the world, and have no idea of how desperately people want to have great delivery companies, bringing their things to them or to others - and they do NOT want the bullshit that comes with using Australia Post.

One company who shall remain nameless, after I had asked them to send the packages by courier said this:

"We offer sending small and or light things by Australia Post and big or heavy things by courier. Your package is a small light thing. We cannot send it by courier, because it's the system - and we can't change the system.".

What they really mean is that they won't make a phone call to get it sent via courier; and they won't put it through to the managers to change the website; and they won't won't do anything, try anything, implement anything.....

They are just too lazy to change their web page, and billing, and to offer a choice of delivery methods.

Rather than fixate the cost of the freight into the cost of the article or the size of the article, and only sending the big or heavy things by courier, I'd be happy to pay MORE just to never have anything of my go into the hands of Australia Post...

I am not alone in this.

I sourced some other suppliers, who provided the things I wanted, and I hired some competent delivery services, and by passed Australia Post and their bullshit entirely.

But with this particular company, who insisted on sending my little light package with Australia Post, instead of with the couriers, upon reading the copy paste crap they replied with, I was reminded of this guy, my good friend Joe Rogan.

In this interview, the words that were leaping out at me:

"When you do that, and you put yourself in those situations, YOU WILL FUCK YOURSELF,".

The pivotal word being "YOU".

Emotional Vampires - he calls the people who dwell in the negative, who set their nets and hooks and traps....

"You bought into it, You chose to get involved, You chose to react, You chose to focus on them and their crap, you got yourself in those situations and you fucked yourself up."

This video, well there is the same interview that has been coupled to a range of videos, but it is a radio interview and I think it's best contemplated with the laid back, eyes closed position to mull over what he has said:

Decades of therapy and emotional health could be summed up in half a dozen lines..

It's put in a way that encompasses all the issues, rather than the details.

And I think it's very good.

If your going to go anywhere in this world, you must keep focused on your own mission and to keep the dead heads and the dysfunctional sickos and their bullshit out of your life.

Hire the smart ones and steer around the ones who operate like the La Brea tar pits.

Go to the suppliers who ship by courier, and or are employing smart staff and or, who are quick to see advantages in propositions.

Steer clear of the people with the, "Can't do, won't do, won't try" mentalities.

As I have worked out - that when you use Australia Post - you can easialy end up paying them big money to lose you staggering amounts in terms of diversion, lost time, money, effort, resources and all that...

My skills, brains, life experience and contacts etc., coupled with the phone, the desk and the computer - that is sitting there to earn me money, when hours and days of time are being pissed away to chase up the results of a shonky operation on my deliveries, then they, being Australia Post, are causing me to multiply my losses.

I PAY for quality people who have their shit together, to get it done right - with ONE phone call and only several minutes.

When I pay $25 for a delivery - it gets done.

The same delivery in the hands of Australia Post - when they that fuck that up, it typically costs in the region of $2000 - $3000 in time and resources to get it fixed up - that is the combination of the lost time spent on the issues, and then having to work extra "over time" to cover the loss, and make up the lost earnings.

When Australia Post fucks things up - it's NOT cheap.

Hence my motto:

"Australia Post - You don't have to fire them, if you never bother hiring them.".
