This is sooo bad it's funny..... Seriously.
I think almost all of the gripes, either wholly or in part, raise a bunch of serious issues.
A few tend to think that parcels ought to be teleported and arrive on the doorstep within minutes of ordering - from one side of Australia or the other...
This frantic "just in time" modern way of operating - has both good things and things that shit me..
It shits me how some people expect everything to be dropped then and there for them, and for it to arrive immediately, all the time.
But in the world of commerce and human frailties, faculties and finess, there does exist and always has done so, a market for speedy deliveries, for those who are prepared to pay, in exchange by those who are prepared to provide a premium service.
And there are issues and delays from time to time with all services.
But when the promise or undertaking, is to have the package from A to B in say 2 business days, in a city to city kind of a way, well a day or so extra on occasion is not a huge crime against humanity - but 10 days, 3 weeks etc., IS.
The endless whining from shit heads about trivial delays for trivial reasons - that pisses me off.
But when people have assorted genuine issues for many good reasons, and Australia Post - and SOME of the employees fuck it up and fuck them around....
And the people might be waiting on medical supplies, spare parts for broken machinery, tickets, pass ports, etc., etc., etc., and the package gets lost (stolen) or stolen, or sent on some backward route via "Bum Fuck Nowhere", or no one bothered to card the recipient, when they WERE actually home.. and now the package is sitting at a delivery centre, and no one knows where it is, or the fucking tracking system doesn't...
Or their packages come through smashed.....
Of course the customers, have a right to crack the shits about this.
But for the most part....
I think their complaints are legitimate, the reasons hold weight and the service is like rooting at night in a public park full of dog shit.
Here is just a sprinkling of the 161 and rising complaints on Product Review - about Australia Posts Eparcel delivery service - alone.

Shocking service...or lack thereof
Bought an item from Sunshine Victoria, got sent Thursday last week. Got delivered to processing facility in Western Australia. I live in Victoria.
Unacceptable. Embarrassing. Another week for delivery, not waiting any longer. Going to report them for missing item tonight.

sigh. just like everyone else on this site...
...I wonder why people use Australia Post eParcel. Received around 20 packages in 2014 from various organisations.
About half of those where eParcels.
Of the other organisations (not Australia eParcel) that delivered parcels - all excellent. Good tracking, fast delivery, actually make an effort to see if I am home and can hand over the parcel.
Then we come to the 10 or so 'delivered' by Australi a Post eParcel;

Then we come to the 10 or so 'delivered' by Australi a Post eParcel;
1) One was lost. Went through the complaint procedure (nightmare, rude customer service on the phone, they hung up on me, twice). The entire complaint procedure took 3 weeks (after waiting for 2 weeks for delivery). It was lost - Australia Post told me. Oddly after they said it was lost the item did eventerally turn up - box destroyed and obviously been exposed to water - 7 weeks after being sent from WA to metro VIC.
2) Three were delayed. Over two weeks from Syd metro to Vic metro, for 2 parcels. The online tracking tool just said "in transit". One parcel went from QLD to Vic metro in 2 weeks. The online tracking system sort of explained what was going on, as it indicated the parcel was in Adelaide for about a week. What was it doing in Adelaide? Customer service, once again, were rude and literally could not care less.
3) Three were shipped in reasonable time (around 3 days from Syd metro to Mel metro), but the delivery person did not attempt to deliver, and item was sent to a local post office for collection. There was no knock on the door, and yes I was there all day....waiting. Two of the three failed deliveries did not have a "missed you card" left. Only reason I know the post office had the parcel as the on-line tracking tool said it was ready for collection.
4) One other failed delivery did leave a "missed you card". Went to the correct post office as indicated on the card - they didn't have it. Went back the next day - they didn't have it, but said it was at another post office (it was).
5) Two other parcels arrived in a reasonable time and were delivered to my door by a friendly courier driver. Amazing!
2/10 parcels sent by eParcel arrived in a reasonable time and where correctly delivered. That's not good.

Where has the service gone?
I am constantly disappointed by Australia Post's poor mailing times and lack of service.
The inconsistency is astounding. I post things interstate - sometimes they arrive the next day, other times 10 days - 2 weeks. No explanation.
A scanned barcode is fairly useless when no updates are made for 3 days.
Waiting on hold for 30 minutes and you get told exactly what you can already see on screen. What exactly is the point of having a call centre?
A service that is so unreliable I'm looking into private courier companies because the extra cost at least means they track where your parcel is!
Online shopping is useless without a reliable postal service to back it up. Aus Post need to pick up their game.
Two 'Attempted Deliveries' in a week
My husband and I have had two ‘attempted deliveries’ from Australia Post in the last one week. The first one was a passport that we were expecting back after visa processing.
My husband received an email saying there was a letter for him awaiting collection at a post office. We were surprised. We both work from home and we could not have missed anyone pressing the intercom. Anyway, we did not pay too much attention to it.
A few days later, I received a delivery of another item that I had ordered online through ebay. It was delivered by FedEx. It was painless. The guy who delivered the item, pressed the intercom, I went to the ground floor to collect it. Simple and smooth.
Then I was expecting another little item (a memory card purchased online) that was coming via Australia Post parcel service. It was expected by 4 Feb. On 4 Feb around 11am, I checked my order status online.
The tracking history said the parcel was ‘Received by Australia Post’ on 2 Feb. Another entry on 4 Feb 9.03 am said ‘Attempted Delivery - Unable to gain access’. That is just not true.
There was no ‘attempted delivery’. Both myself and my husband were at home at that time. We could not have missed the intercom being pressed.
That is when I checked the web to find out if other people had the same experience. I found out that yes, it was common for cards to be left in people’s mailboxes saying ‘attempted delivery’ where as people were actually available to take the delivery.

I AM NOT SURE IF AUSTRALIA POST OWN A COMPUTER
I quite regularly receive parcels by Australia Post, using their tracking service.
Every time you use this service, you do not know where the parcel is from, I do not think Australia Post do either.
Today I received an email to say this parcel has been posted; when I checked Australia Post Tracking service, the email I received had a tracking no of 14 digits.
But when I put this tracking number into the Australia Post Tracking service the reply "You have exceeded 50 digits" I think Australia Post should invest in some new software as what they have now does not work.

Etc., etc., etc..
I am not upset by this shit any more...
I do sympathise with the crap that goes on and living with the consequences of it.
But there is so much stuff with so many people that I can do nothing about on a individual basis.
On the other side of things, I have enjoyed standing up for myself and helping others to do likewise.
But these narratives of madness, insanity and deceit...
If taken as a script for a comedy - some of them are easily in the top 5%...
I think you have to laugh - or just go insane.
