Awesome - Idiot Post comes back to get bit on it's own bum.
This is a great little glut of systemic fuck ups.... I will itemise them.
Australia Post customers take to Facebook over New Year’s Eve store closures
http://www.news.com.au/finance/business/other-industries/australia-post-customers-take-to-facebook-over-new-years-eve-store-closures/news-story/
CUSTOMERS have slammed Australia Post for closing shop on an (1) unofficial public holiday in an angry response that will only be inflamed as the price of stamps jump to $1 from Monday.
Many customers have taken to the postal service’s Facebook page to vent their fury that (2) post offices were closed on New Year’s Eve, while (3) Christmas packages remained undelivered.CUSTOMERS have slammed Australia Post for closing shop on an (1) unofficial public holiday in an angry response that will only be inflamed as the price of stamps jump to $1 from Monday.
The Herald Sun understands (4) many staff had a rostered day off last Thursday, the last day of 2015, which was (5) not a public holiday.
Australia Post said (6) selected post offices were open but (7) no list of the open stores was made publicly available.
(8) “No notice anywhere that anyone is taking an extra day off,” one customer wrote.
(9) “No numbers for local offices on web so (10) have to drive in to get details. Are you still being paid by the taxpayer to take this extra day?
”
Another customer wrote: (11) “Since when does a public service just take it upon themselves to declare a public holiday for themselves — and (12) not tell anyone!”
The extra day off meant post offices were closed on both (13) Thursday and Friday, the New Year’s Day public holiday.
The national hotline recording (14) claimed offices were open Monday to Friday except public holidays.
The latest spate of complaints come as the price of stamps will today increase by more than 40 per cent — from 70c to $1. The price for concession holders will remain at 60c and at 65c for greeting cards.
Australia Post spokeswoman Michelle Skehan said New Year’s Eve was an annual authorised holiday for Australia Post staff.
“While there was no delivery on Thursday some Post Offices were open and this information was available on our website,” Ms Skehan said.
“The annual authorised holiday happens once a year and we alert our customers in advance via our website, social media channels and public notices in our post offices.
“This year was one of our busiest festive periods ever and our dedicated workforce of more than 36,000 employees took great pride in the timely, safe and efficient delivery of mail and parcels.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
However, with the public holidays, the Social Media Customer Care Team has been bludging more than usual with a lack of pointless copy paste replies, and lots of bullshit adds to cover up strings of complaints on the Facebook page.
This is becoming the the new normal for feedback on Australia Posts Facebook page:
"I HATE having to use Australia Post. I hope they choke on our anger."
"So now we pay this grossly inefficient business ONE DOLLAR per envelope and for that it "might get delivered in 3-6 days!" Or we can cough up another THIRTY CENTS for a faster service! Fascinating isn't it? When most companies start losing business they try to trim salaries (CEO for starters), surplus staff, become more efficient and even lower prices to attract business. But not AP! Nope, ram up the prices and then moan and groan when business drops off even further! You really have to wonder at the thinking of the geniuses in AP! I for one will cut my throat before I buy a Stamp! A DOLLAR THIRTY to get an envelope sent and with a lot of luck arrived wthin a couple of days! And the idiot spokesperson says on telly "to maintain our great service to you .......!" What a screaming joke! Instead of the CEO donating TWO MILLION to his Muslim mates why not cut his massive salary to set an example! This galah gets EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS A WEEK, OMG!"
And it goes on......
Kerrie Milliken I've just been online to download the "My Post Concession Account Application form pdf" for my parents to complete and it is no longer accessible online when or wherever I click the various places to access it. Really Australia Post ! How complicated and difficult does it have to be for elderly citizens and concession card holders who still prize the art of the written letter to obtain this concession? Please restore the online concession application form dowload and advertise more broadly how this concession is available to eligible citizens.
Sonya Baker I don't understand why, if letters are able to be delivered within 4 days, why the regular ones will take longer? Why not just send them all the same way? Where's the logic? That's a strange system.
Mick French And here is a guide into how aus post will end up being privatized OR will no longer exist, higher prices for a slower service??? Which idiot came up with THAT IDEA??? sorry aus post but this is going to cost you more than you will ever make
Patricia Ibaceta They are charging us more for a slower service, go figure. It's disgraceful and backward if you ask me
Alexandra Twitchy Gosh how can an express post parcel posted logged and received last Wednesday still be in transit grrrr it has always taken 24 hours from the same place even with Aus post self appointed public holiday it should be here by now this is ridiculous. You should be making refunds to all the people no one bothered to tell that they were wasting their money paying for this expensive non existent service. No one bother to tell the sender that the service is slower than snail mail they were told YES it would arrive the next day.
Peter Frith Spend millions of dollars on a sorting machine last financial year on a machine that slows mail down ( picking out letters that haven't paid for express delivery) so that your claims that post is losing money so you get approval to increase letter prices. That makes sense! Most Businesses work on cutting cost & supplying better services to customers not increasing cost & slowing services. The posty still has to go out every day, bet you come up with way to pay them less too.
Emma Hanson Is there a grace period where we are able to still use 70c stamps, or will my three letters I have ready to post (with no knowledge until today that there would be a postage increase) need to have more stamps added to ensure they are delivered?
Karen Rumble $1 to send a letter. What a joke! 40% increase on passage stamps. Goodbye Australia Post! Way to compete, NOT!
Pauline Graafmans It was inevitable with emails that there would be less mail being sent. Why have you not planned for this and looked at ways of cutting costs. I know it means job losses, but what about residential normal mail deliveries only once a week. If I knew that I wanted to post a birthday card to allow 1-2weeks for it to get there I would plan. I know it's only 30c but that adds up over the year and puts sending cards out of my budget now.
Terri-Lee Lyons Sitting at my dining room table and watched a Australia Post driver jump out of the van, stuff card into front door and drive off! He was so quick I didn't have time to get to the front door! Obviously already pre filled in the card before arriving at my place! Lazy piece of ....!
Linda Edwards I would rather be told emphatically that it takes 4 days to send a local letter or any definite time frame like it used to be - at the moment it is vague and has a time frame which is hopeless when trying to plan to send birthday cards etc
Kym Broome I went to the post office at Thompson Park in Cranbourne to buy the new stamps, guess what they had none. So i thought ok I will buy 70cents and 30 cent stamps, guess what they had no 30 cents stamps, they hahdnt received their stock in yet. If you are going to put the price up on an item make sure you have it in stock at least. What a joke frown emoticon
Terri-Lee Lyons Customer service is a joke! Wernt to post office..."call this number....on hold 45 minutes!! Registered online for my supportmmmgo to log in and it says error in user name invalid
Mal Schweitzer Can send a letter to Sydney and it gets there in 2days but 4days for a local address. then last week 31/12 bought an express post envelope lodged it abd was then informed afterwards that it will sit there until today , friggin joke
Peter Tardent So you'll be closing in a couple of years, what a joke
Chester Lin Do something on those mis-sorted parcels! I've been waiting for my parcel for a month which was supposed to be delivered on 04/12!
Christalla Georgiou Henning Can we still use our 70c stamps or do we have to buy 30c to make it up. Is there a grace period? @Australia Post
Kylie O'Gorman So that's what they do, employ ppl to sit there all day making fancy videos....could just type up the changes...
Michael Buns A 80cent price hike for the same service. What a disgrace. Auspost, please let a smarter company run out postal device. You are Un-Australian.
Sandy Beach I was a long term employee of Post and under the leadership of the CEO Graeme John we returned record profits every year. Ahmed Fahour is a joke he has taken the business to an all time low and has effectively stuffed Australia Post for ever. In other businesses he would be immediately sacked. I call upon the board of Post to dismiss this man as he is a proven to be totally incompetent.
Alexandra Twitchy This video is a damn lie Guaranteed next day delivery in the the express post network LIE LIE LIE My friend sent a letter to her mum in the same ares to the same location via regular mail. She got hers Thursday. Mine sent Wednesday via express post with tracking from same place to me a street away and mine is still in transit. What is the excuse for this????? Australia Post
Lauren Priestley FYI, the concession stamps application page is no longer working.
John Smith time to kick you useless joke of a corporation out, someone needs to establish a new postal system. your a bloody rip off, take forever, lose parcels and keep raising prices. absolute joke.
Salwa Kirk I have already stopped bothering with Australia Post almost entirely. I can get goods more quickly from Britain and the US than I can within Australia. I think AP has a death wish, and really, the sooner, the better.
Michael Elliott So now the cheapest it will cost to send a "large" letter weighing 45 grams to the next suburb is $2.00, yet I can post the same letter via airmail to anywhere in Asia for just $1.95. Go figure!
Louise Brown BULLSHIT Australia Post.
This nonsense about losing money is nonsense.
It more about creative accounting to make the business look like it needs a price increase for ALL deliveries.
Personal mail is down but business and all the junk mail Australia Post delivers has increased.
The weight the posties now deliver is much larger (Australia Post had to buy more powerful postie bikes with bigger side bags) due to Posties delivering small very profitable parcels.
This more than compensates for the loss of private letters money wise.
Posties deliver more on a dollar value than ever.
The whole "we ran at a loss" story is creative BULLSHIT.
Glenda Weaver .. ... Aust Post is a total disgrace. How dare you increase postage by 30 cents in one foul swoop, plus the increase in Xmas card postage this year as well. Once, and only once a year you could leave it at 50 cents per card permanently. Imagine the volume of cards coming through not to mention 'happy customers'. This year will sound the death knoll on Xmas cards for the bulk of the country! What average family can now afford to send them, I ask you? Give us a break for god sake you money hungry vultures. And not to mention your cut backs on home mail deliveries. You cut these back to save money and in turn want to hit us with a huge price rise AND MAKE MORE MONEY ... GET REAL. The spineless Federal Govt. has a lot to answer for in allowing such a huge increase, and not to mention your crappy service .. It's archaic to say the least!!
Jaye Smith I too agree that the increase in postage is too steep. Australia Post has already cut down on postal deliveries in our area. We are supposed to get around 3 deliveries a week however I suspect that mail is held back or staff don't bother to deliver it. I am fed up explaining to Australia Post staff at my local post office why they should NOT leave my parcels on my doorstep instead of delivering to me in person or leaving me a card. I was away for two weeks in July and I had put in a mail withold request a few weeks before I went overseas. When I returned there was a parcel notification card stuck in my screen door for all the world to see. I live near one of the busiest streets in Newcastle. if I had have wanted everyone to know I wasn't hope I would have left a note out 'Dear Burglars, we are away for two weeks so help yourselves'. The increase in services will not make your services any better. You SUCK!
Steve Walker Australia Post is not a private company. It is owned by the Australian people. The management don't give a rats about what we want our postal service to offer. It's obvious they don't want people to send letters. If they're struggling when stamps are 70 cents how are they encouraging people to use the service by upping the price to a dollar. Idiots are running the place but then they are allowed to by the Government authority.
Andrew Mishura Given that Australia Post only survives by the fact that it is taxpayer-funded bureacracy that would not survive a month were it to be privatized, perhaps spending energy on a lame quiz like this is not the most effective thing that Australia Post can be doing at this time?
Chris Nightingale Hey aus post, how's the ideas I sent you coming along like the 500g prepaid bag being $5 and making a 1kg bag at the current 500g price? Everyone loved that idea when I posted it, nothing!!!!!
What about my full list of ideas to increase profits, nothing!!!! That's right cause you really don't care about the "conversation", its about doing what you want regardless and getting your millions in wages secured with this extra money. And now charging us more and making it it days slower as well, the biggest SCAM IN AUSTRALIAN HISTORY RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES.
George Paolucci My new year's resolution is to not use one single stamp. I will use scanning,email and anything else,including private parcel companies soAust. Post does not earn one red cent from me. I will not be the only one. How dare you put up the cost of a stamp by 40%. What about the Government. Did they even have a look at the ineficiencies of Australia Post. You just need to visit one of their offices to discover this. Ovbiously they just listened to the ineffective CEO asnd just agreed with him.
Claire Rogers hello australia post, a package was sent from melbourne on the monday before christmas, she sent it by express post, & its 3rd of january & it still hasnt arrvied. its bad for express post, since it should be next day delivery but.. weve searched up the tracking number, & it says no events currently found. she put it in a post box, so it obviously hadnt been scanned, but it should be here by now. the sender & i have tried contacting the australian post but they arent doing much to help, can you please give me a hand to find the package because it was supposed to be a christmas present.
Colleen Dunk It is a SCAM -Australia post is absolutely thriving & racking in the $ as a result of online shopping BUT they are saying they are losing money from the usual postal service - WELL isn't it ALL part of the same business ? They are making out that left hand does not know what the right hand is doing ! They are basically complaining about nothing.Now that stamps are going up to $1 & the usual mail is going to be slower - it's the end of Chritmas cards & people writing. letters.Email, Facebook & free included phone calls to interstate family members & friends is completely going to take over. - Australia Post has cut off it's nose to spite it's face. I am sure that they will regret these decisions or at the end of the current financial year have a creative accountant cover up their stuff up & losses that they will make as a result of people not writing letters even more now.! .The only people that will be sending letters is businesses now & I am sure that as a result many things we pay for will cost us more to cover these businesses increased costs. Very little thought has been given to this.
Tony Guard Australia post sucks...parcels sent to me from melbourne to qld last wednesday ...now monday and the tracking still says melbourne
Alexandra Twitchy I used to enjoy the anticipation off a parcel on it's way and now I dread it. I am waiting on an express post parcel 24 hour delivery (yeah right) posted last week. Tracking number are supposed to be logged at each stage (yeah right what a joke) thankfully more and more business' are deciding to use courier services and I can choose who I use as a customer instead of being forced to use aus post. And your CEO and board of directors get paid a fortune lay off staff and fail to provide the advertised service. and say they have no idea why they are hemorrhaging money. I really do feel for the regular staff that man social media because you bare the brunt of customer rightful anger. So please do pass on all these very angry comments to the board because they should be facing the music. I HATE having to use Australia Post. I hope they choke on our anger.
Chris Nightingale What's this about stamps now being a dollar, no mention here...
This is outrageous, its already the moat expensive postal service in the world.
None of your recent posts mention it.
Your costs are up cause your paying for parcel delivery infrastructure cause of high demand in parcels. Once that infrastructure is paid for your profits will soar despite lower letters. If you can't do your job then fire yourselves, discracefull.
Liz Canney Aust Post keeps crying poor, what about the increased numbers of parcel deliveries? As someone who buys online all the time I know what they charge it is NEVER less than $8.00 and mostly over $13.00 just for local deliveries.Don't tell me they are not making money this is all BS. Millions of people now buy online but AUS Post never mention their parcel service or the profits from that department.
Dave Oh Hey - where is my parcel that you state is DELIVERED ? VLX0025102 The Post Office does not have it. I don't have it (and you know it).
I've opened a case with you. I called you many times (and had the offensive wait times). I've written to you. I've messaged you. I've asked you to call me. I've asked you to deliver the item to me - nothing arrived.
I've asked for the details of the person who you say you gave it to. The signature, the ID check info, and the security video at the time the item was supposedly signed for.
All I get is silence, or directed back to the 137678 number thats not getting answered - just your recorded message with the sound at offensive levels.
Looks like somebody in Austpost has stolen or gifted it to somebody. Since I've made correspondence with your executive and there is still no action, it would be fair to say that stealing my item is supported right up to the that level.
How about you actually call me this morning if you do not support this view.
