Turning Lemons in to Lemon Aid.


You get the local postie - who doesn't deserve the business, so he doesn't get it.

You get the grubby "Crawly Incrowd" and their bullshit shop local campaigns.

You get Ebay doing the "Click and Collect" campaign = no going to any post office to get anything.

But unfortunately - they don't use companies like Toll etc., to do the delivering.


They use Australia Post.......

And the item was paid for on Tuesday - into the sellers account.

The Ebay email came on Wednesday, saying the item would be ready to pick up at the collection point on Thursday...

(It's an over night send)

Come Thursday - no email saying, "Come pick it up" but I turned up anyway - just in case...

No email Friday...

No email Saturday or Sunday - "Oh yeah Australia Post doesn't do fuck all over the week ends...."

Like the local post office only opens Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm... and is closed on Saturdays - when the most people come into town, than atany other time during the week, to do their shopping etc...

That whole Australia Post "customer unfriendly service" bullshit trip.


But come Monday - Yes - the email came.


I told the seller about this - "i.e. It's not your fault - it wasn't there to pick up when the delivery date was announced by Ebay - I will give it a few more days and see what happens. It's being delivered by Australia Post....."

The response:

"Yeah the deliveries by Australia Post have just continued to worsen."

(delays, theft, stuff going missing etc..)

One of the major discussion threads by sellers on Ebay has been shifting their deliveries to couriers.

The sellers on Ebay are dumping Australia Post enmasse.

Awwww Australia Post.... Terrific.  People are so impressed with the service given by so many people in Australia Post.... The universal "Attempted Delivery" card being placed in the mail box, when the driver not only didn't bring the parcel, they never even came and knocked on the door.... Outrageous prices........ Parcels and letters going missing..... Registered mail never arriving, or getting signed for by the contractor and disappearing.... The tracking system that doesn't..... Post Offices + PO Boxes = Pffft.

We do not have a street delivery where we are. The local PO has told us that anything not addressed to our PO Box will no longer be put into our box but will be kept inside behind the counter as per Australia Post advice.  When I rang Australia Post to query this they said it is  NOT the case in an area where there is no street delivery (which is what we were told when we first got a PO Box) and it is the local PO who have made this decision, not Austpost. Vitamin company Blackmores chief executive Christine Holgate will be the new chief executive at Australia Post. First comments: Ms Holgate said she felt privileged to be appointed as CEO of such an iconic Australian corporation and, "one of the most resilient and successful postal businesses anywhere in the world". What she really means that she is either completely out of touch with reality or is a weasel wording corporate bullshit artist.
