Hundreds of parcels stolen from Australia Post centres in Melbourne

A major security breach has resulted in hundreds of parcels being stolen from Australia Post distribution centres in Melbourne, with those affected left in limbo as to whether they will receive compensation.

(No - there is no major security breach - it's just a walk in snatch and grab - by the pallet load, after cutting a lock, on a gate, to a facility)

9NEWS understands the Braeside and Clayton South distribution centres have been targeted four times by thieves, who took off with thousands of dollars’ worth of goods.

CCTV shows two heavily disguised men entering an unoccupied warehouse before picking up a pallet jack to help carry their loot out (in palletted baskets) onto a white tray truck.

“To get access to the property they have cut chains to open a gate, they are in the property for up to 40 minutes in each incident,” Victoria Police’s Det. Snr Const. Tom O’Loughlin told 9NEWS.

“It is an attack on a public service, it’s really not good enough.”

(Whaaaa Australia Posts IDIOT management and their shit for brains "We take our security very seriously" crap, this is like shop lifting at Coles, while all the staff are pissing on at the christmas BBQ out the back.)

The duo has targeted the centres four times since July, stealing  hundreds of parcels.

(Is that hundreds of parcels EACH  and EVERY time???)

“Unfortunately we don’t know what’s in these packages and nor would they, they’re just taking packages at random.”

Australia Post said it would be boosting security measures to ensure no further parcels were stolen.

(Yeah - they are upgrading from the $1 Bunnings Dear Diary padlock, to the $2.50 Discount Shop padlock - because they take their security seriously)

They did not comment on whether those who have had packages stolen will be compensated.

“We have had a number of people come forward who did not receive packages they were expecting to receive,” Det. Snr Const. O Loughlin said.

You the ripped off customer, YOU have to chase THEM up for compensation? What ever happened to their worthless parcel tracking?
