*****NOT RECOMMENDED***** AUSPOST SHOPMATE SERVICE
First time I ordered an item, their estimated delivery on their FAQ stated 5-8 working days. Ended up taking more than 14 days before I received it in Australia.
Even then on the day of delivery, I saw the updated status that it was out for delivery so I took the day off to wait at home for the package.
Waited and waited checking status updates every 30 mins on their webpage and waiting for a knock on my door.
Next thing I know, the website tracking shows "attempted delivery".
I go out to my letterbox to see a card left behind (saying) that I was not home for delivery.
I called up the number on the card immediately and the person managed to track my package down to the local depot and told me I could go down to collect it.
All this within 15 mins of receiving the "ATTEMPTED DELIVERY" card in my letterbox, this means either the delivery driver immediately went to the depot to drop my package off after attempted delivery ignoring his other deliveries OR (a more likely scenario) they do not bring the bigger packages along and just drop off "attempted delivery" cards and drop them off and get the customers to go pick it up by themselves the next day.
But that was in the past so I decided to give shopmate another shot.
Package arrived at warehouse, took one day to show up on their website. Paid the delivery fee. Took another day for payment to go thru.
Item left the US warehouse on 21st September. 5-8 working days placed estimated delivery between 27-30 September
Its 29th September and my package is still showing as having arrived at NSW on 26th September and no status updates since then.
I highly doubt it is going to magically appear in Perth tomorrow and be delivered.
I shall wait to see if they try to pull the "attempted delivery" nonsense again (which i suspect will happen as I've had that happen multiple times for other products not just products bought thru shopmate).
