OzPost is so bad its hard to find a suitable title....

I write this after having made around 300 purchases on eBay and a number of other online stores in China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malayia and Philippines. I am aware most of these sellers use a Consolidated Shipping Hub... which seems to mean they sit in a bin waiting for an aircraft to have spare luggage space and they fill it with the cheap stuff! So its does take time... that I can accept BUT - when I find package as been held up in Sydney customs for 3 weeks or more... something is wrong.

In the last month I have needed to claim re funds for lost parcels in transit - but out of 7 - 3 turned up after 7 - 9 weeks. Cheap tracking ends at ( in my case) Sydney customs and some sellers claim my "loss" is due to customs losing the package. Who knows...its Lost in Space!

Next I have even took it on myself to drive to three local post offices after on seller - IN SYDNEY - sent and could prove by tracking that it was with the carrier ( Star Track) for delivery. I eventually collected it from lake Haven post office in the mall.

The counter hand said "they are not supposed to drop it here...but they did" No card - because the driver - it seems daughter of whoever runs the service in this area - was filling in and could not be bothered to even try to deliver the post officer lady their showed me around 50 parcels dumped on her.

In December - I have claimed a number of refunds because of none delivery..the sellers are adamant they sent it out and having used most of them before - I don't doubt they had.

On the positive side - we have had a change of postie and the current post carrier is an older guy and seems a conscientious guy and does a good job - but I still have stuff missing in Sydney and that's not his fault.

Our door number is "2" about 300 meters away is a building/unit with - it seems - a number 2 in its address, we have mail for them and handed it back to the postie and pointed to where he can find the right address.... no doubt some of my missing items - may possibly have gone to that unit.

Don't bother asking for tracking numbers or dates...having just found this review site - be sure when I have more issues and give valid info..it will appear here... this post is a dismal summary of the last 12 months.

Fuck the Australia Post National Crawl Center

Awwww Australia Post.... Terrific.  People are so impressed with the service given by so many people in Australia Post.... The universal "Attempted Delivery" card being placed in the mail box, when the driver not only didn't bring the parcel, they never even came and knocked on the door.... Outrageous prices........ Parcels and letters going missing..... Registered mail never arriving, or getting signed for by the contractor and disappearing.... The tracking system that doesn't..... Mail taking 3 weeks to be sent from one suburb to the next......  What could be politely described as the "Go fuck yourself" policies and customer service when things are damaged or stolen.....  Packages "that could not be delivered", that end up in some Post Office,  far away, and the staff there,don't give a shit, can't find it and stuff goes missing and the customers get the run around etc... And REALLY BAD customer service..... The National Call Centre's...

Post Offices + PO Boxes = Pffft.

We do not have a street delivery where we are. The local PO has told us that anything not addressed to our PO Box will no longer be put into our box but will be kept inside behind the counter as per Australia Post advice.  When I rang Australia Post to query this they said it is  NOT the case in an area where there is no street delivery (which is what we were told when we first got a PO Box) and it is the local PO who have made this decision, not Austpost. We took the PO Box in the first place so we could actually get our mail because we couldn't get to the shop when it was open! This new policy will affect a number of customers.
