Was receiving a package from Sydney to Melbourne. Landed in Sydney on 03/01/17 from HK by DHL. Have contacted Vendor in regards to tracking ID, re-directed to DHL and Aus Post. Worked out that Australia Post had the responsibility of the final delivery from Sydney to Melb to Residence.
However, on further clarification, the package level my vendor sent the parcel with did not include tracking services for the Australian leg of the trip. Fair enough. Waited for over 3 weeks for the package to arrive. Two attempts to call Australia Post
Customer Service for some advice on how to approach this. Both representatives, almost robotic in their response stating they were unable to help me without a tracking ID (which was well understood at that point), however, they were not able to help me further, to troubleshoot the issue.
By a sheer stroke of luck, I decided to call LPO's in my area after reading an article that parcels get dumped at LPO's without delivery slips being left when couriers are unable to complete delivery.
Lo' and Behold, the package has been sitting in an Aus Post LPO for 2 weeks.
No delivery slip left by the courier and there was always someone home.
The Aus Post LPO staff was in disbelief my package had no tracking information given the type of parcel.
I understand Australia Post hires out courier services for final delivery but the fact that this is an ongoing issue is ridiculous.
