Long Jetty Australia Post Double Dipping Charges & Disgusting Customer Service

Today 27 /04 received collection card in letterbox to collect returned package, went to LONG JETTY AUSTRALIA POST which I always try to avoid as they are the worst when it comes to customer service, hand over my card asked for signature,

once i sign their little scanner he quickly pulls back the package from counter by staff member [name removed]. Then he requests I pay $3.00 for the return of the item as he states The Australia post store that has returned it from Queensland wants their $3 back for resending back to me as it was uncollected from their store by the impending receiver,

I disagree but basically won't be given the satchel if I don't pay (my fault i figure tounge in cheek as I thought it was Australia posts policy to return to sender items that don't make their destination) anyway after a few words back and forth I pay the $3 and collect the item, after I get back to office I look up receivers details and find that the reason that customer never collected the satchel was that it originally took 16 days to deliver from Central Coast NSW to Bowen Queensland as a registered item ...

Now that's 16 days before the first card was left for the customer in Bowen 16 long days to travel 1500ks ....I've sent items to USA that have arrived in 4 days but 16 days to Bowen, anyway I phoned customer and he stated firstly never received card.

Which seems to be a ever growing problem with aus post posties but too hard to fill in a small card and leave it in letterbox...secondly he never received text message even though he's signed up with aus posts but new text when ready to collect service so then he figures it's not going to arrive so doesn't bother about it,

so i ask aus post now, why is it my problem that I have to pay you twice even though You state estimated delivery time to that area 3 to 6 working days yet when it arrives WELL OUTSIDE the estimated delivery time, then it takes 4 weeks to return to me at the central coast I'm then extorted $3 from your goonies at local franchise because YOU and the other courier goonies can't deliver a satchel within its estimated time frame...

Just absolute thieves, cannot wait until the government sell off aus post to an overseas company that knows how to operate a delivery service and get rid of all the old deadwood staff and bring in some young vibrant forward thinking workers....

I send parcels all over aus and the world up to 500 items a week and aus post are just so disgusting to deal with as a company ......eg: UK mail I usually have items from uk delivered to me in 2 to 6 days....USPS usually deliver items from Chicago to Gosford 4 to 7 days....Hong Kong mail usually arrives 3 to 6 days....and 20 cartons per month usually arrive from Germany to us via UPS in 4 working days

BUT the fools at aus post take 16 days to do a delivery to Queensland.YOUR all a joke, can't wait till they sack the lot of you Morons...

Awwww Australia Post.... Terrific.  People are so impressed with the service given by so many people in Australia Post.... The universal "Attempted Delivery" card being placed in the mail box, when the driver not only didn't bring the parcel, they never even came and knocked on the door.... Outrageous prices........ Parcels and letters going missing..... Registered mail never arriving, or getting signed for by the contractor and disappearing.... The tracking system that doesn't..... Mail taking 3 weeks to be sent from one suburb to the next......  What could be politely described as the "Go fuck yourself" policies and customer service when things are damaged or stolen.....  Packages "that could not be delivered", that end up in some Post Office,  far away, and the staff there,don't give a shit, can't find it and stuff goes missing and the customers get the run around etc... And REALLY BAD customer service..... The National Call Centre's...

Post Offices + PO Boxes = Pffft.

We do not have a street delivery where we are. The local PO has told us that anything not addressed to our PO Box will no longer be put into our box but will be kept inside behind the counter as per Australia Post advice.  When I rang Australia Post to query this they said it is  NOT the case in an area where there is no street delivery (which is what we were told when we first got a PO Box) and it is the local PO who have made this decision, not Austpost. We took the PO Box in the first place so we could actually get our mail because we couldn't get to the shop when it was open! This new policy will affect a number of customers.
