Petition Dot Org Vs Australia Post and their bullshit.
No wonder the people are saying "Go Fuck Yourself" to Australia Post and it's moron management.

Live up to your slogan "We Deliver" and deliver our Parcels to Salt Ash, NSW and surrounding areas as we have paid you for that service.
At the moment, if you live in Salt Ash NSW and some surrounding areas, you do not get your Parcels delivered by Australia Post, if you are home or not. You have to drive 30-45 minutes round trip to either Tanilba Post Office or Medowie Post Office and if your parcel is quite large, either Newcastle 1.5 hrs round trip or Taylor's Beach 1 hr round trip, some cases having to hire a trailer. When you have paid for Door-to-Door delivery, you expect your parcels to be delivered.
Some people are disabled, have no transport, elderly or trying to run a business and rely on this service and may I add, have paid for it. It is the 21st Century and more and more people are buying online, in most cases, without an option of who will deliver their parcels, especially if buying from overseas, and expect delivery of said parcels.

It was only a few years ago that Parcels were delivered in Salt Ash and many residents can attest to this.
A response that many in my area receive from Australia Post:
"We have been in contact with the Newcastle Parcel Delivery Centre, and they have advised that your area falls under what is called 'Roadside Delivery', which means that the delivery people will only deliver to the roadside itself. This is usually based on population density in an area, but there are other factors that do prevent a door-to-door delivery for less centralised areas.

However, there are steps that can be taken to ensure you get your parcels. If you are able to set up a large delivery point for parcels, like a large container/locker/etc that parcels can fit inside of, most Delivery Centres will be more than happy to put non-signatory items into this spot, and we can request that they adhere to that, as a sort of compromise in this situation.
Let me know if that is a possibility for you, and I can go back to the Delivery Centre and see if they can accommodate this."
That system is just not logistical, those containers are $200 ea. at Bunnings, more to the point, why was the parcel service available before and not now?
Salt Ash is geographically not remote, many areas that do receive Parcel Delivery, e.g. Tanilba Bay, Lemontree Passage, the Parcel Deliverer needs to go past Salt Ash to get to these areas.
When the mail person writes out the Parcel Pickup-slip and places it in the letterbox, they could beep their horn and the client could walk to the letter box and picked up the parcel, hence "roadside delivery".
Many people have been standing in their driveway during this exact situation, and the mail person has delivered the mail and added a parcel pickup slip to the mail box, so much for "Roadside Delivery".
It makes no sense. Courier's don't have a problem, why would Australia Post? If it is an issue of not being able to afford to provide such a service, then they should not accept delivery of the parcel to our area in the first place.
We just want to get what we pay for - our items to be delivered to our door or at the very least, to our letterbox - Roadside Delivery.
Please sign and let Australia Post know, your not HAPPY!
