Post Offices + PO Boxes = Pffft.

We have a Post Office box and most of our mail is addressed to it, however, there are some Government departments and overseas deliverers that will not mail to a PO Box and insist on a street address. We do not have a street delivery where we are.
The local PO has told us that anything not addressed to our PO Box will no longer be put into our box but will be kept inside behind the counter as per Australia Post advice.
When I rang Australia Post to query this they said it is NOT the case in an area where there is no street delivery (which is what we were told when we first got a PO Box) and it is the local PO who have made this decision, not Austpost.
We took the PO Box in the first place so we could actually get our mail because we couldn't get to the shop when it was open!
This new policy will affect a number of customers. Do we all just cancel our PO Boxes?

So on top of not delivering my parcel to the nearest Post Office, you're now not replying to my Facebook messages?

I'm not wasting my work day to come and get my parcel from a P.O. that won't open outside normal business hours - send it to Laburnum P.O.
And get a new social media team while you're at it, the current one is terrible
Seriously, I paid for parcels to delivery to my door, not send to a post office nor a parcels collect centre where are far far away from my place and ask me to pick them up.
If your postmen don't ever even bother to check if anyone is home and just leave a pick up card and go every time, then you shouldn't even qualify to provide parcel delivery service to our doors and charge people expensive postage.

Ooh! Nice! I hope there is an availability of medical courier deliveries also. I am shifting there next month and have already started looking for good courier services as Christmas is around the corner and my granny needs her meds on time. Thanks for sharing this post.
