Lost and Stolen Passports - in the Australia Post Black Hole of ID Theft and Oblivion

I was thinking - there are a LOT of complaints on the Australia Post Facebook page about peoples passports going missing and getting stolen / disappearing, while transiting the Australia Post system. This is pretty typical: Michelle Alcorn‎ Australia Post May 9 at 9:06pm · Thank you Australia Post for losing my passport when I sent it via registered post to an embassy for a travel visa. There has been absolutely no attempt by AP to find my lost passport, and to add insult to injury.... I was charged a "lost passport fee" of $108 when I had to apply for a new passport. Furthermore, I have been informed by the Passport Office that AP "forgot" to ask me to complete a declaration on how my passport was lost. So my application was incomplete when AP sent it. Absolute incompetence at every level, and I get to pay for the privilege! Customers beware: registered post is useless! They can only tell you when it left and is delivered, nothing in between except "in transit...

Australia Post - Theft Fest and Spying on Employees

This is an interesting little extract from an article - and it has a few choice comments on the end. http://blogs.theage.com.au/small-business/workinprogress/2010/02/26/theyliketowa.html?page=2#comments They like to watch... February 26, 2010 Earlier this month, Australia Post's managers were accused of spying on staff. By using computerised letterboxes, they were able to catch workers falsifying their time sheets. Instead of denying the claims, senior management said they were entitled to secretly monitor their employees because the organisation isn't answerable to state laws. Perhaps this lack of trust is explained by a global report released at the end of last year, the Global Retail Theft Barometer. It found that Australia was the only country in the Asia Pacific region to list employee theft as the main reason for missing profits and stock shortages. The majority of countries blamed shoplifting for their retail shrinkage rates. Blah blah blah blah.......... The comments:...

Australia Post invests in new mail processing equipment - Whooo Hoooo!

Yes - Ummm Ahhhed Forhours Has taken the millions of complains of overly large letters and packages being crammed into excessively small letter boxes to heart and now has a solution. The twice honored Hero of the Great Patriotic "No - Go to the Couriers" War,  has figured out that if you remove all the air from inside all packages and all the air from the containers carting all the mail - by preforming all your mail into brick shapes that fit neatly inside your letter box - not only will it be a perfect fit, but you can include TEN TIMES AS MUCH junk mail as well.. Wow - what a guy! Genius! Only a man who is an ex banker, who could scam the art of lending money that never existed, for profit, could pull off a mind blowing move like that. Ummm Ahhhed Forhours - has gone and spent a whole $69.99 from the staffs christmas fund, to purchase a genuine 1897 stamping mill - so he can increasingly rape our arses with even higher rip off postal fees - by doing his part in "The ...

The simple guide for the people of the world to stopping junk mail forever.

Minus the reams of text. 1. Print out these paper labels - with the manager of your postal system, in your country, as the recipient. You will probably want one or both of two basic types, depending upon your circumstances. The 8 labels to a page format - goes best with a stick of cheap paper glue, on envelopes etc., from junk mailers. The 2 labels to a page, goes best in the large 38 cm by 25cm (or whatever you can get) Glad storage bags... which you can cram full of junk mail. Or you can use the large labels on card board boxes, filled with junk mail. If your in Australia - right click, / view image - save as; and they print out neatly onto A4 paper. 2. Apply the little labels to the envelopes, and put the big labels into the Glad Bags - then fill the bags (or boxes) right up..... (old label - needs the "Chief Executive Officer of Australia Post" bit) The 38 x 25 cm Glad Storage bags.... (or next size down) And drop them all into your friendly Australia Post Recycling Centr...

Remind me why I don't want Australia Post in my life - again.

On the Australia Post Facebook Page was this issue. It was expertly handled by Alice, a fictitious moniker for someone in Australia Post, who handles the social media "issues" that arise like people getting their stuff stolen while it's in the hands of Australia Post. https://www.facebook.com/australiapost/posts/10151022705685667 Disgruntled Customer September 25, 2012 ·  I'd like to report mail fraud and mail theft however your "contact us" service on your website have been obstinate and are not helping. The Profitable Economic Benefit in Killing Off Junk Mail

This is a continum and a conclusion to the junk mail problem. I have extracted this section from here, to maintain an exclusive line of thought. http://you-shit-me.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/i-was-having-laugh-about-australia-post.html A foot note: What shits me about the whole junk mail issue is the sheer stupidity of the people involved in it and the total wastefulness of the entire production chain - from the oil well to the land fill - total waste.  Hang with this while I take you through the BIG picture of the whole Junk Mail issue OK -it takes of energy expenditure to GET and REFINE and DISTRIBUTE oil fuels. So enormous amounts of fuel have to be found so all these people can go about their business's's's  - which as well as running their lives - loads of it goes to clearing out enormous amounts of forest that is not replaced - cleared forever; or possibly for the renewable plantations.... That wood gets felled, all the life in all the trees dies as well - all poi...

In the beginning.

I can see what your up to. There are no surprises. Everything is known in advance.

I was having a laugh about the Australia Post junk mail issue

Seriously - the more idiotic the manoeuvres, the funnier it all gets. In a nutshell: When life ran on horse back, sailing ships, and evolved with infernal combustion motors, PAPER MAIL - was the only cost effective way to send communication around the world. A REAL letter, was a real treat. But then to compress several hundred years of technology and development into a skid mark on the undies of history..... Then came the telegraph, then that evolved into automated transceivers - high speed Morse code.... That enabled for some, the ability to send information, with the omission of huge legs of time and distance from the delivery chain. Along came WIRELESS - the ability to disperse information to HUGE amounts of people - the radio and then the TV etc.. came into being... Then came the telephone..... and slowly by slowly - these devices moved from special high cost, high priority services and they seeped into the general population..... Today - even the wino's in the parks have mobil...
