Unhappy franchisee takes Australia Post to court

http://www.franchisebusiness.com.au/news/unhappy-franchisee-takes-australia-post-to-court 18 February 2013 | On February 14, former franchisee John Christensen took Australia Post to court over an agreement the company had with the Communications, Electrical and Plumbing Union of Australia (CEPU). Under the agreement Australia Post was permitted to open only 20 franchisee run stores, however in 2006 the company announced that it planned to convert 150 of its already existing stores into franchises. Christensen, who is the former franchisee of Australia Post in Coorparoo, Brisbane, alleges he was never told about the company’s agreement with the CEPU. According to SmartCompany Christensen told The Australian that Australia Post informed him the store was going to be closed just two days before the Christmas of 2010. "I had plans to buy two or three over the years and on sell them in the future,” he said. "But now they've effectively scrapped the whole thing, no ...

Each call to their call centre costs AusPost an estimated $6.50.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/business-spectator/australia-posts-broken-down-parcel-delivery-system/news-story/ It all started with Johnny Cash. There he was looking out at me, his greatest hits, from the bargain bin at my local electronics shop for a fiver. Wow, a great bargain feeling that you simply don’t get from digital downloads. Unfortunately, upon returning home, I realised that my MacBook does not actually have a place where you can stick in a CD. How was I going to transfer this music now? So I did what I normally do (and what the majority of consumers now normally do). I jumped online and went looking for an external CD drive for my Macbook to transfer my $5 CD (the bargain cost of that CD suddenly lessened by needing to buy a piece of hardware to transfer it). I found what I wanted easily, bought it easily, paid for it easily. Satisfied. And then it all went to pieces, thanks to Australia Post. And why did it go to pieces? Because Australia Post’s customer experi...

Australia Post survey linked to scams

Yes more of the retarded arseholes running Australia Post and their scummy "any contact with us is an agreement for us to on-sell your personal information, even if you have contacted us by web form, about us stealing your fucking parcels" - and their life style survey, was just another brain dead cash grabbing scam - and now Fat Head Fahour wants your ID, and to run Australia Post as a Medicarse agency / Centrelink / Drivers Licences / Pass Ports / Banking /  Blaaa - Dee Blah - Blah Blah.. https://www.reddit.com/r/sydney/comments/3a48ch/australia_post_missing_items_report_cases_to_pio/ Australia Post - missing items. Report cases to PIO (Postal Industry Ombudsman) at http://www.pio.gov.au and the http://www.ombudsman.gov.au/ for other matters. (self.sydney) submitted 1 year ago by dugax As a casual eBay seller, I've experience a number of articles sent go "missing", including Express and Registered. I've been compensated $50 once for a regular parcel that was lost, which had an approximate value of $60, but that barely scratches the surface of how much money I've actually lost throughout the year. All items had tracking and the scans finish at "In Transit". This creates problems as buyers then demand refunds, which Paypal grants rather happily, at the cost of sellers such as myself. I finally found and made a complaint to the Postal Industry Ombudsman:  http://www.pio.gov.au The TIO has been getting quite a bit of press in the last few yea...

*****NOT RECOMMENDED***** AUSPOST SHOPMATE SERVICE

From the Australia Post Facebook Fan Club. Jason Seow *****NOT RECOMMENDED***** AUSPOST SHOPMATE SERVICE First time I ordered an item, their estimated delivery on their FAQ stated 5-8 working days. Ended up taking more than 14 days before I received it in Australia. Even then on the day of delivery, I saw the updated status that it was out for delivery so I took the day off to wait at home for the package. Waited and waited checking status updates every 30 mins on their webpage and waiting for a knock on my door. Next thing I know, the website tracking shows "attempted delivery". I go out to my letterbox to see a card left behind (saying) that I was not home for delivery. I called up the number on the card immediately and the person managed to track my package down to the local depot and told me I could go down to collect it. All this within 15 mins of receiving the "ATTEMPTED DELIVERY" card in my letterbox, this means either the delivery driver immediately went to ...

Throwback Thursday to the old model postie bicycles. And the hecklers have long memories.

#Throwback Thursday to the old model postie bicycles, one of the tried and true methods of delivery! The Australia Post Facebook Fan Club: Glenn Latch Ah. The good ol' day's. When every letter and parcel eventually arrived at its destination. Now we cross our fingers in hope that we don't have to deal with incompetence yet again, when items go missing. Backward progress? Ron Jack The 'Postie's' whistle was usually a welcome sound in our street. My Mother would give him a cold drink of water on the hot days as his 'round' was so far from the Post Office at Clayton. That was in the 1950's. Sweet times and fantastic memories. Monica M Barker Shame! Gone from two deliveries a day and one on Saturday morning in the fifties/sixties all by pedal power...... to one a day every 5 days if ya lucky! Harrump! Julie Seager wouldn't that be nice - the guy in the truck can't find his way up my street, I have to go to the petrol station for my mail. That...

Oh Fuck Noooooooo... Endangered Wild Life and Australia Post Stamp Collecting.

This is about as "go fuck yourself" unproductive as it gets. Postage Stamps = expensive. Mailed Letters = stolen, lost, mis delivered, extremely slow, contents stolen, and as an issue in it's own right - letters are basically extinct. Stamp Collectors = have become an endangered species. People who send hand written letters, via Australia Post,  to anywhere = are extinct. Remember that - even the pen pal clubs threw up their hands and said, "This is getting too expensive - and we have had enough". The same goes for birthday cards, gift cards and christmas cards - it's gotten so expensive and people are fed up with the workers of Australia Post thieving them, and the fucking management doing nothing - that the entire industry of posting cards has basically shut down. This story was about as cutsie patronisingly idiotic as it gets. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/melbourne-zoos-animals-promote-endangered-wildlife-stamps-for-stamp-collecting-month/new...

The Bayside on Braeside - Robberies, Robberies, Robberies - Nothing but fucking Robberies.

National communications manager of Australia Post,  Jared Lynch, says "Stealing mail is naughty". Does FUCK ALL about the HUGE BACK LOG of shit stolen by people working in Australia Post. Awesome. baysidenews.com.au/2016/0AC9/21/security-upped-post-centres/ Security upped at post centres September 21, 2016 Stephen Taylor DESPITE assurances that parcel security has been beefed up at its mail delivery centres, Australia Post is being cagey about exactly what measures have been taken. National communications manager Jared Lynch said inadvertently alerting would-be thieves to the upgrades would give them a head start in possible future robberies. He agreed better security was necessary, especially at the Ventura Way, Braeside premises, which has been robbed three times recently, with up to 200 parcels stolen from the sorting area in raids in July, late August and 12 September. “We are working closely with the police and have implemented a number of extra security measures at that...

Is Australia Post too relaxed about security?

The issue of armed robberies - is in the article. The issue about "customers security" - is in the comment: http://www.governmentnews.com.au/2016/09/australia-post-getting-relaxed-security/ Is Australia Post too relaxed about security? By Marie Sansom on September 7, 2016 in Communications, Crime, Federal, Sector, Security, State The postal workers’ union has demanded Australia Post tighten up security after two armed hold-ups in three weeks at the same Canberra post office. The Communication Workers’ Union division of the Communications Electrical Plumbing Union (CEPU) asked for a full-time security guard to be posted at the Australia Post corporate outlet in Fyshwick, Canberra after it was held up twice in June and it has been pressing the company to put extra emphasis on security ever since. CEPU NSW Branch Secretary Jim Metcher asked Australia Post to station a security guard at the Fyshwick store while a security review was being done. A security review examines factors ...

Natalie Kruger Yep, AusPost is a joke. Always losing parcels, never taking responsibility. Always excuses (it must be this, it must be that). And you're about to put up your prices AGAIN! You guys are actually detrimental to my business. Time and time again and again. You are a monopoly today but I can't wait for the day a competitor enters the market and shows you how to run a business efficiently. Australia Post Hey Natalie, I'm really sorry but I'm a bit confused by your message and its relation to online shopping. Were you after my assistance with something? - Nathan Natalie Kruger Hi Nathan, I sell online so am constantly affected by your poor delivery and customer service. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/australia-post-set-to-raise-prices-for-parcels-international-letters-and-other-services/news-story/ Australia Post set to raise prices for parcels, international letters and other services KAREN COLLIER, CONSUMER REPORTER, Herald Sun September 25, 2016 7:31pm AUSTRALIA Post is set to raise prices despite recently revealing a return to profit. The postal giant is pushing up the cost of various parcels and international letters, and mail redirection, mail hold and unaddressed mail services. From October 3 customers will pay an extra 10c to $6.25 more for dozens of items. Australia Post last month announced a huge turnaround in financial fortunes off the back of a booming parcels business, but it claims it needs to take “cost recovery” measures. It reported a $36 million after-tax profit a year after notching losses of $222 million. Earlier this year it jacked up the cost of a standard stamp to $1 and introduced two-speed letter delivery. Spokeswoman Mich...

Carrier Pigeons Please.

The  Australia Post Facebook Fan Club. Suz Anderson‎ It's really no wonder people are not using Australia Post anymore! Firstly the price to send anything when compared to the service is pathetic! The next time I'm the only one in my local shop and have to wait for them to finish their conversation to serve me won't be the first. I have had packages (with tracking) disappear, after calling Australia post to try to find this package I was pretty much told too bad. Since then I have had packages sent and returned to the sender (with correct address) and most recently I have been waiting on an envelope (that has been sent twice) to arrive, the first one was sent in the beginning of August. How can you even call this service?? I would be better off with a carrier pigeon! Australia Post Hi Suz, it certainly sounds like you have had a poor experience with us lately, for which I am very sorry. I would very much like to look into the matter with your mail a bit further, so if possi...

Logistics Training Council are complete self serving wankers.

But their numbers on Australia Posts diminishing market share appear to be accurate. And really? You need a fucking bullshit TAFE qualification to deliver letters? Where does being able to read, write, read maps and remember routes or being fucking literate and having a brain come into it? I mean I was doing paper rounds, at 5am, in the dark... Use the street directory, figure out the best route, and go do it. That it why I have basically no respect for registered training organisations, their largely idiot staff and their bullshit money grubbing certificates.. Then you can go to university, and get a PHD in pencil sharpening..."
